Thanks for the video, but for your information, the method of extraction here is not actually correct. The cylinders can be eased out in any seat position, They can stick in their location and may come apart as you remove them as they did in my case, however don't panic, just reassemble them and they will be fine. The seat/cover do have to be in a certain position in order for the cylinders to be relocated into the cover as seen in the video. I wrote this below as a reminder to myself next time that I need to remove the closers. Villroy and Boch slow closer removal The closers can be removed with the seat in any position but the seat cover must be at a certain angle to allow re installation. To remove the closer, prise it out gently with a screwdriver or insert a bar into the hole and tap out. If the parts separate, just remove the parts and reassemble them. When re-installing the closers, note that the grey one is fitted on the left and the white one on the right (looking at the seat from the front). To re-install the closer, push them into their respective holes in the seat part so that the bottom of each closer is flush with the end of the seat’s closer holes. This will ensure that they will locate more easily when pushing them into the holes in the cover. In order to locate the closures into the cover, the lid needs to be slowly moved up and down while pushing on the closer. Note: The hole in each closer must face downwards in order to locate on the pins on the toilet pan. Hope that this helps. Ray

For me the instruction to find the right angle around 90° (for the right side connector, which is responsible for closing the seat cover) was perfectly correct. It will allow the plastic hooks/noses to slip closer to the connector body, so it can easily be removed without any use of big force. So the parts won't disassemble either. To remove the left connector (which is responsible for closing the inner seat ), it's most easy if you reset the seat position to 0° (closed) after you had removed the right one. Then you can easily take off the inner seat part including the connector from the cover part (just lift the loose right side a bit and pull it out). Again, no force is needed for that. The connector is then still firmly placed in the inner seat part, and to finally remove it, you could simply push it with light force from the inner side.

I have broken cylinders in a villeroy and boch toilet (about 12 years old). I don't know the model number for the toilet. I have looked into the cistern but all I can see if a bar code and number. How can I tell what model it is?
