I got a question, when I was changing the D string, the fabric part at the top broke when it was at a C3 pitch. Did I do something wrong?

Hi Nathan Chan my Cello is a 5 String Acoustic-Electric Cello (in Blue) made by Yinfente and it's in really pristine shape. I'm using D'addario Helicore Medium Tension Cello Strings (Full Size) including a matching High E String. Helicore Strings are generally easier to bow cause they're a little bit thinner.

This applies to Electric Cello too (some have Geared Machine heads). There are also geared tuners for Cello which make doing that super easy.

I'm also replacing the Friction pegs with geared tuners which will allow me to get rid of the fine tuners from the tailpiece, making the instrument easier to tune.

My Cello has 5 Strings so I use Daddario Helicore Strings which are a bit thinner to make bowing on the Cello easier.

Hey Nathan, how are you? What model is your cello? Does it seem to have a large shape?

Thank you so much for this video. It helped me a lot cause my a string just snappe randomely, and I was super overwhelmed. Just a quick question: how often should I change my strings? Love your content, keep it up and be blessed ✨

When winding C and A string is it necessary to keep string from touching side of peg box? Excellent thorough video
@nathanchancello3 жыл бұрын
I think it depends on the width of your pegbox. I believe it’s important when fully tightened that it doesn’t touch the pegbox. This is because I feel like it doesn’t stay in tune as consistently if it does.

@@nathanchancello Why not just use Mechanical Tuners:www.internationalviolin.com/ProductDetail/34702_cello-machine-heads-four-plates instead of the Friction Pegs? They turn more smoothly.

Why is your G string different than the others?
@RockStarOscarStern6343 жыл бұрын
You know what, it can be the same as the others but this is for this video.

I am sorry to say, but from my angle (the angle of the viewer watching the video), your bridge looks quite angled towards the nut. But I know that can be deceiving because from your end, it looked straight. On one side, it can look crooked and on the other end look straight. I suppose they way you really tell is by looking to see if the feet aren't angled one way or another?
