It was a rainy day, so I figured might as well do some maintenance on the scout and change the brake pads. Follow me on Instagram: / valorcycle

REALLY GOOD instructions. However the head cam you are wearing needs to be angled down just a little bit. Please keep sharing.

Yeah its always hard getting the angle right without being able to see it live. I'll keep trying different things to get it better!

You may want to clean the piston edges before pushing them down. Otherwise you risk fucking up the seals. I push the pistons out a little(!) bit further out after removing the pads by slightly pulling the brakeing lever. Then rinse cleaning the pistons with brake cleaner and a soft small brush. Then apply some brake grease / copper paste around the pistons (a old zip tie might help to reach all places) before pushing the pistons back.

Good advice! Didn't think of that.

@Valorcycle2 жыл бұрын
They've been great! Feel about the same as stock, those are also sintered.

@@Valorcycle hello! Wondering what’s the size for rear pads? Got a lot of conflicting info online , thanks!
@Valorcycle2 жыл бұрын
@@Eastcoast_Rds this is what I ordered below. If you can get your hands on the service manual I highly recommend it as it'll have all the info you need. That... doesnt sound like a good thing. Probably should get some replacement clips

@@Valorcycle Thanks. Are the pads supposed to be loose. Or in a fixed position?
@Valorcycle3 жыл бұрын
@@joeyork9891 they are loose until you put them onto the caliper and get everything screwed in
