A friend gave me his Osmo gimbal but I am not sure what version it is though. I have a DJI block 3amp output. I think this is what came with it but can’t remember. I hardly use the gimbal but I remember charging it once before. It’s been over a year though. When I plug it in to charge, the Llights on the gimbal go on for a few seconds then they go out. I’ve left it plugged in for several hours and nothing. No lights at all.

Thank you for the question! I can't recall my button area getting hot. A good measure is if it is burning to the touch - that is never a good sign. If however it is warm to the touch, this might be more normal. I hope this helps!!!

Actually a really helpful little video. Two of my charge bricks just didn't cut it but understanding the amperage ratings - plugged it into a higher rated brick and all worked fine. Thanks for explaining the lights and what it should look like when charging.

Hi Villow, thanks for commenting in! Good question! Yes you can but it is a bit tricky. You can make sure your phone is set with the charging port to the left and connect it to the charger or you can try a right angle charging cable and keep the phone port on the right. It is tricky because the weight of the cable can pull the phone downwards and cause the mobile 2 to error out so this all depends on the weight of your phone and whether you have enough charge cable so it doesnt pull downwards on the phone while the mobile 2 is on, hope this helps!

I just bought it, opened the box and was shocked there are no actual INSTRUCTIONS. Just a quick guide which doesn't actually even go into detail on charging and what each color does.. I had to go on google and GOOGLE "DJI OSMO MOBILE 2 OWNERS MANUAL".. But yeah.. The instructions are horrible that come with it.. If the first thing you need to do is CHARGE IT.. The very first thing should be not only how to charge, but what each of these lights are meant for seeing how there are many lights and none are even titled.. Been charging for almost an hour and still just the 1 left white LED blinking and green blinking on far right...

Thanks for the comment WestCoastCamaroZ28! Make sure to use a 2.0 amp brick while charging to ensure it charges at optimum speed. I think mine takes about 2 hours usually to get fully charged

Hi sir, 1st light is blinking for more than ½hour while osmo mobile 2 gimbal in charge is this normal or it longer than the usual and still battery is in 1% for ½hour charging.

Hey Madhan, thanks for the question. 1 percent after 30 mins of charging does not sound normal. Try using a different power brick and cable and see if you get better results. If that fails, then something might be wrong with the battery, let me know how it goes

Thanks for the video. I plugged my DJI Osmo Mobile 2 in last night, the first light started to flash with a solid green light and within an hour the second light started to flash. I left it plugged in overnight and in the morning, just the first light and green lights were flashing. The device would not turn on despite being charged overnight. I unplugged the charge cord and plugged it back in and now the first light is flashing and I have a solid green light. It doesn't seem to be charging though. If I unplug it after 15-20min of this charging, it just shuts off. More info: the DJI has been sitting in a drawer for about 6 months without a charge, and the charging brick I am using is 2.4A. Do you think this Is this some sort of battery issue? or is there a factory reset procedure to fix this?

I read some additional posts and it looks like you need to use a charging block with at least 5v and more than 1A (one post stated this was from the manual, but I did not confirm). Originally, I was using a power strip with usb ports. The ports are labeled 2.4A but maybe they do not produce enough voltage. I switched and am using an iPhone charging block that is 5v and 1A. It is charging now, powers up and connects to my phone. It has taken 1/2hr to get to the second flash.

awesome, if you are now charging it for the first time, 1 white led blinking will occur until it charges more, then the second white should also blink. Once fully charged, it should show 3 white lights and one green light. Make sure you use a charging brick with at least 1.5 amps of power or 2amps works best.

Correct but make sure more of the white lights blink eventually which proves it is actually properly charging

thank you i just got so pissed and messaged somoene that it wouldnt charge... i didnt even look and i used the micr usb cable hooked to a 800mA almost a 1/3 of the juice... Still you would think id have juice after 3 hours but no only one flashing white dot... yes I have the green dot solid to the right and a flashing white light to the left. Hoping these batteries dont die over time cuz it sounds like this guy didnt want to learn the gimbal and put away after never using it... could have been 2 years ago for all i know.. thanks again

Have you tried a 2 amp rated power brick? That usually charges it faster.

@@ozanaktamis1413 Hey Ozan, thanks for commenting in, this doesn't sound normal. Most important thing you should probably try is connecting the osmo mobile 2 to a dedicated 2.0amp power brick instead of your laptop. Sometimes laptops can't provide enough power for charging and this might be happening (it may be charging slower as well and that's why it sounds like it's taking forever). If the power brick idea does not work out, I'd switch that USB cable you're using to charge with an alternative. If those 2 things don't work, it might be defective, let me know how it goes!

Hey, by the way what's the standard charge time from no juice to full on a 2.1A charger? I'm using a galaxy s7 era samsung cable and charger they are real decent they outlive all the aftermarket ones and always pack a punch when the power source is good. I'm getting the impression these take a while. Accidentally using a 800mA for like 3 hours I would assume almost a half a charge but I don't even know the capacity...

Same thing here. Just bought the Osmo 2 and had it charged with a Samsung (S9+) adapter. Only one white light blinking at the moment (plus the green light) for the past hour or so. Hopefully it's normal and I'll see the other white lights blinking as well.

I use the samsung charger and that works okay but my samsung charger is 1 amp so I would recommend any charger with a 2 amp rating. Cannot vouch for the iphone charger. Green light blinking for more than 10 seconds means something isn't right

Hi Marysia, sorry to hear about your issue, try another charger and cable, also make sure you activated using the dji app. If that doesn't work, you may need to contact dji support since it might be defective.

Ouch sounds like the battery indeed but just in case make sure you are using a power brick or the computer usb that is able to supply at least 1.0 amps. I charge mine with a 2.0amp power brick
