that charger is a thermoelectric generator, and in fact the colder the water is the better it works since it works off of temperature differential. in other words, the more extreme the temperature is on either side the more electricity the charger makes. a fun little experiment you should get a voltage meter and see what the difference in electrical output is between using water and using something like dry ice or liquid nitrogen.

Experiments are not used to make money but to increase knowledge Unbox it - You require a temperature differential. If you had liquid nitrogen on the top and ice on the bottom it would work.

black guy just diy it yourself. Buy a peltier device costs like 5 bucks, stick it to the bottom of a pot, and put a candle underneath. Connect a power control for like another 5 bucks and frankenstein a usb cable onto it. Takes ten minutes and a 15th of the price.

Look up DIY-perks peltier thingy... Anyways, he made a similar device himself with wax candles. Just as long as one side of the peltier element is hot and the other one is cold it will generate electricity. You could hold it in your hands and put snow into the bowl, and it would still work.
