I just did valve clearance check on my 2006 Breva 1100, may I suggest you only need to remove the aft tank bolt, use a small towel balled up to slip under the tank to prop it up a few inches. That gives enough clearance to get the inboard valve cover bolts with a simple Allen wrench and a pair of pliers to give a bit of leverage for this inbound bolts. No other panels or coweling had to come off. My valves were exactly.004 and .006. I changed gaskets, the old ones may have been original but the new gaskets I got from Guzzitech in California are some type of rubber coated metal, a very high quality gasket. I used no sealant and so far no leaks. The old gasket was breaking in places.

I was changing the air filter anyway, so it was easier

Nice tutorial. I just bought a 2006 Breva with 38000 kilometers in top shape, but being a mechanic I want to go through the bike and make sure all is well. I'll change all the oils, filters, check valves, etc. Have you had any problems with the instrument cluster?

Not really, throws up the odd error but there’s advice on how to reset online. But no major problems, so far

Where did you get those fuel line connectors? I broke the red fuel elbow and am awaiting another to come from the UK, these seem to be much easier to disconnect the fuel line.

Just off eBay I think Yes mine broke the same way so now it stays connected, those connectors are a tight fit and hose clamps are handy because of the pressure. It just fits under the tank and is a massive improvement. I used to dread removing the tank
