How to check duplicate or original Casio Fx-991EX calculator?

Hold shift, 7, and on buttons all at the same time. You should get a diagnostics message. Before the message clears hit the 8 button. It should display a list of all the buttons you need to hit. Hit them one at a time and each line should be darkened. The buttons are 1, 5, ), X, shift, 9, log, and 0. Afterwards you should get a message that says, "Solar model OK!". Hit the AC button to return to normal operation. FYI, A small asterisk symbol should display in the top-right corner of the screen. It displays when the solar panel detects light. If the solar panel is covered the asterisk disappears. The asterisk condition remains even after a power-off, power-on. I'm not sure how to remove it, but it's pretty cool. I like having it there.

Mine showed Battery model okay, does it mean that it's fake? Also the asterisk didn't come up

@@eec2224 MAKE SURE THE CALCULATOR IS EXPOSED TO LIGHT during the diagnostics. I covered my solar cell and went into the diagnostics as before. My calculator displayed "Battery model ok". Then, I removed the paper covering my solar cell and it changed to "Solar model ok".
