How to check fuses, diodes, transistors, mosfet, voltage regulators in circuit and out of circuit boards, if TV doesn't turn on or has no red standby light then check the power supply fuses. Some fuses can blow out during a surge or lightning strike or shorted diode or transistor goes out.

Good I liked it. Just one observation. Transistors cannot block voltage, even if a transistor is open you will still have a voltage across it. Transistors will block a current flow or it will let it pass. That is what it will do. But in general you are a good teacher....

This is super helpful. I am trying to fix a Halloween inflatable that has the "short circuit" light effect. These are "simple" circuit boards, however I am not a technician. I have tested everything on the 2 small circuit boards. There seems to be a transistor that is not functioning. Sadly I have tried finding the transistor number and have had no luck what so ever. Thanks so much for the great video it really helped a non technician like me.

If you use the red lead (+) on the base or black lead (-) on the base to obtain your display on your multimeter. In live circuit use your voltmeter setting make sure to make your ground stationary before you test voltage in a live circuit. Use only 1 lead never make yourself a ground source while testing a live circuit.... I would suggest you work with a dead circuit use your Ohm or Diode/Tone setting.

@6:10 IMHO the picture is wrong. The two Multimeteres to the left: the reading should not show 2x 0 Ohm´s, that would be 2x SHORT. The Display should say 1kΩ- 10 MΩ (that´s what FLUKE says about R-Values Range). There has to be some Resistance that the voltage drop across the junction develops. Or am I completely wrong? Good Video anyway 👍

In my testing/checking MOSFETs using Multi-meter, when the gate is charged, why some MOSFETs (N-channel & P-channel), the drain to source let us say 0.002 or less my meter reads, others starts with more higher like 0.435 and running up as fast as a second or half a second until showing infinite? Discharged test is working (no reading on drain to source). What does it mean? Does all MOSFETs behave like that?

I am getting readings both ways - around 0.8v one way and around 0.3v the other way (switching multimeter probes). Is this normal for this kind of components? Hi. If say you need to replace the diode and they don't have the exact one. Could you series a diode so that it matches the value of the diode you're replacing? By the way, what's the value of a diode if it has two stripes and it says M2? This is on a Famicom video game system's power supply. Are those transistors, the same as the transistors in a CPU or a GPU? If you had a billion of those big transistors, could you built a CPU? Thank you. God bless, Proverbs 31

hey bro you said npn or pnp transistors as negative positive does it really?....cause i have studied electronics n is n-type semicondoctor is pentavalent(germanium) and p-type is trivalent semiconductor(silicon)...and i have a question you said we can use two diodes as pnp or npn transistor(which takes more than 3 volts and gives two volts output)...for instance if we connect two positive sides(to act as base) .... and give 4 volts to it and what would be output at emitter and collector?....and what would happen if we connect two diodes in other way?
