How to check Oil & Fluids in Toyota Corolla 2014-2019

Hi, quick video on how to check motor oil , power steering fluid, brake fluid, coolant , transmission fluid in 2014 2015 2016 2017 2018 2019 Toyota corolla. There is no power steering fluid in this car and it has no user friendly transmission dipstick.

Usually low brake fluid is due to brake pad wear. Look around wheels for leaks.

Hey Ed. I just got my cvt transmission changed, the typical drain and fill and engine oil change. On the maintenance manual it says to change transmission fluid, front differential oil, and motor oil. but when I asked my service advisor he said that my 2015 toyota corolla doesnt have differential, he said the cvt transmission fluid is basically the differential. is my service advisor correct?

So I understand the power steering is eletric, however, if your steering wheel is not turning smoothly, would that be some type of failure or leak of some kind? It seems a bit harder to turn my wheel then what it used to be.

It's probably a bad fuse or the electric motor is failing. Check the fuse first if the fuse is fine than the motor is bad and you need to change the motor.

If you're concerened about it, go to an auto zone where they'll hook up a code reader to your car for free and check to see if anythings wrong. Copy the codes, research them and you'll know if anythings wrong. outside of that, if gears switch perfectly fine and you're not feeling a grinding, banging, or scratching sounds from it you are likely ok.

Oil level is low add some. Oil is discolored or turning black change it

The oil level should appear fully across the dipstick. My 2015 Corolla is impossible to check the oil.

You can go to your local dealership and you'll be able to buy coolant, as well as other maintenance parts, from the service department. I'm sure you can find better deals online, but in a pinch or to have a reference for what to buy, they can search your exact year/trim and sell you what you need

It’s a CVT. There isn’t any way to monitor the level. Since they are very fickle machines, a transmission shop will have to do maintenance on it every 30-50k miles (fluid drain and fill)
