A small hose that is long enough to go from the where the hood latches, down between the motor that is just the right size to push in the filler hole and has a small baster like top to poor the fluid in and let it drain into the pan works great.

You have to make sure you get the right transmission fluid though. G-055-025-A2 is the right spec oil for the 09G 6 speed. SUPER TECH DEXRON-IV MERCON LV at Walmart will work it

I bought a 2006 beetle that was sitting in a garage for 3 years and it slips out of 3rd gear. The previous owner said it had no tranny problems . It’s getting better as I drive it more. I was going to have the fluid changed. Do you think it could be slipping because it was sitting so long?
@charles-ih7zp8 жыл бұрын
the reason vw says to come to dealership is because audi and vw use specific fluids that have specs. for example coolant is g12 or g13 pink or purple color it does cool differently from green and red. or oil has spec depending on engine my bew tdi requires 505.01 not all synthetic oil meet that spec it is very specific. so If you own a vw or audi don't just use anything. find out your spec then find compatible oil. is a few dollars worth a motor or transmission?

How is that Maxlife fluid working for you? I know that a lot of Toyota owners use it. They have Aisin transmissions in their cars. Volkswagen also has Aisin transmissions in some of their cars like the Passat and Jetta. My 2013 Passat would take the G 055 540 A2 fluid which is really Aisin WS equivalent. I am just trying to figure out if the Maxlife can be used in my car without causing a shifting problem. Until I know for sure, I just stick with the Aisin WS or Toyota WS. I know that Maxlife can be bought cheap anyhow.

What do you guys know about sealed transmissions? My 07 Beetle has one and other VDubs might too. Bought the car new off a dealer lot. Easy driving most of time. Service kept up religiously with synthetic. Pushing 115K miles. Should you pursue a fluid change or just leave it alone. Spoke to two dealers, suddenly now, they're telling me "I would be risking performance later" blah blah. A year ago, they told me to come on in and they will be happy to do it for 800. I think something came down in the interim that they don't want to do it anymore. Will be nice to hear from you or anyone else. Thanks.

Hello Jamie. I current own a 2002 vw beetle and my car seems to be heating up and I believe my fan are not working so that could be the problem but I also me came along another problem and my car seems to be stuck on one gear and if you rev it to 4000 it jumps to next gear I believe it could be that it needs transmission fluid changed but I could be wrong. Any tips or advise that you can spear.
@jamiejonesthecarman9 жыл бұрын
Juan Mendoza Hi Juan, yes!! You need to go and have it scanned at a shop to see what check engine codes might be present. It sounds to me like it might be a range sensor, but instead of guessing on the parts I highly recommend getting it scanned because buying a bunch of parts that may not be the actual problem can get very expensive. It certainly won't hurt to check your transmission fluid too because if that's all that it is, you are already money ahead. Be sure to come back and let us know what you find out and if you need any help, I'm happy to lend a hand.
