Use impenetrable thorns and maternal staff then boost arcane to 80 and intelligence to 50 minimum and it should get you through, use lord of blood’s exaltation talisman and golden braid talisman, then if you want summon mimic tear and go to town, but make sure to wear good armor

Love it. Made slight changes to my build: 60/10/60/48/19/12/25/60, Golden Vow + Flame, Grant Me Strength + Scholar's Shield. Full Solitude Armor. Talismans: Greatshield, 2-headed turtle, Verdigris, Lord of Blood. Poise + stamina recovery in flask. Mimic tear. All of his bullshit aoe 10-hit combo attacks were barely scratching my stamina bar, this was SO SATISFYING. If Miyazaki is going to design the bossfights with so much cheese, I'm gonna feel excused to start the cheese arms race, and boy somebody is going to lose that one.

@@skimpy150190 Yeah, no reason to dodge as he can't break your stance as long as keep your shield up, which also makes a good case for using Verdigris, since you're not intending to dodge anyway. Just block and poke him to death, there's nothing he can do to kill you except for a second grab.

If you get the sword lance from commander Gaius you can put a blood ash of war on it and the blood build is over 150 takes half the hit for blood loss

Deciding to try to beat him the second time after killing him the first time by pure dedication was the biggest regret of my life. Also if you walk towards him on the way in there's a chance you can pop the mimic straight away. If he doesn't go purple almost immediately then you can pop the mimic. If he goes purple then block and wait. It seems to allow you more chance if you walk towards him rather than standing still.

I tried the thorns build and it almost worked but drained your fp and health, the bandit's curved swords didn't do anything, and bloodfiend's arm was too slow... So this is the only way to kill Radahn easily

My man, you are a genius. This 2nd phase was fucking me up for GOOD. Pre patch I was always getting close to finishing him, but always dying with his HP in something around 10%, I was getting crazy already. But yeah, I saw a comment defending that this is not a cheese but strategy. I fully agree, it's a perfectly fine strat, you did great man, thank you so much.

I did something very similar...but two things really helped me in this fight. One, I used the Greatshield Talisman which reduces stamina per hit you take so you can take more hits. And two, I found it much easier to just tank the meteor shower instead of running to the left and jump. You can tank the meteor with your shield and take zero damage with the scholar shield. It was an easy fight once I did those two things. Beat him within 3 attempts without summons

Thank you mate. As of July 12th it works fantastically. It took me about 6 tries. I used his build but with Morgoth's trident and Lionell's armor, as I didn't have the weapon/armor he used. Sometimes if you enter the arena and don't move Radanh will start walking slowly towards you and you can summon the mimic tear safely.

For whatever reason, this boss is HYPER aggressive with me. Eats through my stamina in no time, even following this guide. I am on NG 7, and I'm sure that makes a difference. I've been stuck on this boss for weeks... I'm not sure if I'll be able to beat him. I'm gonna keep trying, though!

Fwiw, the OP is using diff talismans in the vid. They’re using greatshield talisman which significantly reduces stamina dmg when blocking. Not sure why they didn’t show that in the build showcase, but I’d try that if I were you. Also make sure your fingerprint is fully upgraded.

i already had given up. not the first fromsoftware boss, that i am gonna leave out (nameless king, orphan of kos). if you are not from the hc-soulsborne section and its too much for you to study a boss for hours, you dont need the hassle, dont need to kill every boss. but with your build it finally worked. as you say in the vid, it is extremly essential to only hit him, when your stamina bar is more than half full. sub and like and much appreciation ! ! !

Holy crap this works smooth like butter. I fought him maybe 40-50 times, trying multiple weapons and strategies as a melee build but could rarely even get him to second phase. Thought I’d be fighting him for weeks and I was losing all motivation to. Switched to this build and literally beat him second try. Great tip on watching the stamina bar. That’s literally all you have to do. Hold L1 and tap R1 a few times when he’s nearby and then back up when stamina hits 50%. Take a flask sip if needed and the lift back up that shield. Amazing. I didn’t even have to look at his attacks. They were all blocked. Just watched that green bar to finish line 😂 I hated the idea of “cheesing” a boss but I was determined to beat every boss with no spirit ashes and this dude seemed nearly impossible so this was the next best thing. And it was quite easy with no summons. Took the tip from another commenter to use Gaius’ Sword Lance with a bleed ash on it and it was super easy to proc blood loss on him. Awesome. Thanks for the awesome guide! 🙌

if you dont want to use shields just use this instead, which worked for me pretty well: lv110 with 18 scadu levels i think two hand (not dual wield, two hand) antspur + poison mist with blood affinity verdigris set turtle shield (on your back) and a replaceable weapon with bloodhound step (for when your physick ends by the end of the fight) bullgoat talisman + crimson seed(+1) + two hand damage talisman + golden braid use the 450% load tear + stamina regen speed tear have like 50 vigor 30 endurance then like 25 in strength or dex it really doesn't matter that much and like 15-20 mind i think... then just dodge and hit until you proc all bleed+rot+poison, the fight should be over in about 3.5 minutes if you do things right and dodge on time.

I respecced at around 280 and followed this example except using Antspur Blade with the bleed infusion, which at +24 actually has almost twice the bleed buildup as well as scarlet rot resulting in noticeably faster procs and faster transitions to phase 2. I was going to use the crimson whorl to absorb the meteor explosion, but I accidentally drank it and proceeded to kill the boss so idk if it would have worked. Apart from the explosion, the stamina regen tear made it far easier normally, which might have contributed to killing the boss that run, it's to the point that this along with two headed turtle allowed me to completely ignore stamina loss due to blocking and go crazy poking the Radahn's feet in the middle of a combo. Due to a complete intellectual stat dump that left me simple, and being slightly higher level than in the video, I had enough endurance to wear the entire set of heavy armour and replace the arsenal jar with the rot kin veneration which procced at least twice per phase due my poison sword and the summon's poison (I can't tell if my mimic was actually using poison mist or if thollier just decided to start heavy attacking after I put it on my bar). I almost killed Radahn without the npc summons and then got blown up by the meteor at 5ish percent, and then killed him with the summons so either way works for OP's build it seems. The npc summons are mostly helpful for distracting the boss to get the mimic out, and to distract the boss before phase 2 so you can grease your shield and deep throat a prawn before the start of phase 2. If one of them gets hugged you can stop blocking and just spam light attacks getting several procs in. Theoretically you can make this more likely by keeping your distance around the time he does this and letting the npcs tank and get picked for it. If they're alive for the first hug they won't be for the second one. Since OP apparently cares, the dlc things I used are the two headed turtle which really did help loads, the vertigris shield and armour because goat armour uglie but otherwise the same, and golden braid. I know the title is such for SEO reasons, but it's hardly a cheese strategy to change to a tank build. This really is just a normal tank build modified to suit a hyperaggressive boss with an unreasonable health bar. If it was cheesing I wouldn't have still died several times. You do still take damage and your own dps suffers dramatically as you're limited to thrusting weapons with bleed and no ash of war or magic.

Got him first try with this build. Level 163, 60/17/58/50/19/9/9/20. Scadu level 20, ash level 10. I used Godrick's Great Rune + Rune Arc to hit the minimum stats to use a Glintstone Staff and Scholar's Shield spell. Stab stab stab, recover. Thank you!

Great strat! For those that didn’t level arcane: the strat works just fine with just sorcerer‘s shield and the endurance boosting seal and any big shield. You just need to heal more often.

Great guide! I've been stuck on him for days, the closest I got him was about 25% health. I tried this method and got him on my 5th try! He kept doing the hugging thing, it's kinda BS that the second one instantly ends the fight. A few tips: viewers might not notice that you fully upgraded the shield, that's important because it increases the shield's guarding ability. Also, you might want to use your mixed physick flask before applying the magic buffs since they don't last as long.

Nice! I apologize for all this text but I wanted to offer those struggling a little advice since I've been playing with this build for a bit since watching your video. using this method I beat him multiple times even on characters that are low arcane and ones with high arcane and even with 11 Mind and 1 Mana Flask; It was just enough to cast Rallying Standard and Scholar's Shield but before you go in the fog wall I'd use the 1 Mana Flask. one of my characters was 60, 12, 50, 50, 75, 12, 10, 10, LVL 200+20/10 at higher levels a bit more FP makes it so you don't have to waste time drinking FP flasks and can buff up in one go so you don't waste time and lose your buffs since some are quite short (around 30s). Doing it at LVL 200 was definitely a bit harder than doing it on my LVL 250+ characters but I was curious if I could do it. I'm using White Mask, and Tree Sentinel Chest, Legs, Boots Sacred Blacksteel Greatshield Erdtree's Favor +2, Rotten Wing Insignia, Millicent's Prosthesis, Lord of Blood's Exultation Blood Sword Lance from Gaius because it has higher bleed than Helice but I have done it with Helice too. I've also done it with Cold Antspur Rapier too. Only spell is Scholar's Shield so I just have to tap right, go to the wand, and I can start casting for phase 2 Hefty Rot Pots, Hefty Freeze Pots for Mimic to use but the last few times I haven't gotten a chance to bring Mimic before I killed Radahn (he wouldn't give me a safe opening) Pick your favorite Great Rune. Extra health is good as is Extra HP and Stamina, etc. Practice a few times so you don't waste your Rune Arcs. Physik: Greensplill Crystal Tear: Temporarily raise max stamina Greenburst Crystal Tear: Temporarily boosts stamina recovery speed This is just what I've been using trying things out. The Turtle Talisman or Double Headed Turtle Talisman would be great here too. Verdigris gear is great too if you have the Endurance. buffing the shield, letting go of block to gain stamina, keeping in range so your hits land, these are the heart of the build so there's room to slot in different gear. ---- I buff up using rallying standard then switch to buff the shield (i've beaten radahn with a Black Steel Greatshield (Sacred), Verdigris, and Fingerprint (Sacred)) then take off the Commander's Standard spear to get back to medium weight. Have to be quick though. I also did it with Golden Vow but wanted to try Rallying Standard Pop the Physik just before going in. Then the last few times I've popped a bloodboil aromatic but I've done it without it too make sure to switch to your weapon before going in and not your wand (LOL I've done it) stay as close as possible so your attacks hit. one interesting thing about elden ring/FromSoft games is that with piercing weapons you can block AND attack at the same time. It uses a lot of stamina and without buffing like we are I think you take chip damage too. so IF POSSIBLE always be attacking then when you have little openings let off the block button so you can regen your stamina. With the Tears active even a second is a lot of stamina recovered. Attacking constantly will build bleed faster and cause damage also the attack power Talismans have an attack cooldown of 1.5 seconds so to maintain your buff you have to keep attacking. Being aggressive at first is especially useful because a good Bleed proc can get to phase 2 faster and you can relax a bit and steadily bleed/damage him for the win. at the start of phase 2 pause for a fraction of a second and slowly move backward because IMO it seems the AI is waiting for you to do something. If you don't he does the huge holy blast but if you do something immediately like heal or spells he'll skip that and do an attack instead. This sounds strange but another tactic is to go slow on phase 1 so that he eventually does the gravity rock throw in phase 1 because in phase 2 it's a pain to deal with and if you get to phase 2 it can be a lot harder to get your mimic out and buff your shield. if anyone has any questions or wants me to test something let me know

I spent 3 hours on him. trying my favorite builds and my boss beater builds. The first phase I could get down 95% of the time but that second phase. The flash steps and the repeated slams, it would always get me. I came close a couple of times. Learned early that much as those 2 summons are great to have in the leda fight. However they make this fight so much harder. Just need your mimic . I was done, I was ready to hit the bed and sleep on it. Found your vid and got right back up. I normally dont like to cheese but this fight is just to much. Ive seen someone else already say it but his weapons arent that crazy to want, I found that rememberence duplicator and left it there hopefully should work to get the other sword. So if I do a NG+ with the DLC I have no need to fight him again. Cool looking for sure but it still is like his original sword. This set up though helped, mine was slightly different due to my stats, but it got me passed him, and I thank you for this vid. You are a scoholer and a gentleman.

So as a second cheese.... 1. Hefty poison pot x3, 2. Hefty rot pot x3, 4. Unseen form, 5. Assassin's gambit (preferably on a dagger) and 6. Mimic veil. Pop unseen form and gambit before entering then crouch and DO NOT MOVE until he turns around then follow the left side wall all the way to the end. You WILL have to reuse both 3 or 4 times, once you're in the far left corner DO NOT MOVE until he is out of sight at the stairs then align your head with the two statues on the cliff to HIS right then move forward until his cape it just barely visible toss one poison pot and two rot pots then use the mimic veil once you see his health going down. Please for the love of God DO NOT MOVE once stage 2 starts and do not move until his health is gone. He will walk away after 10-20 seconds then the last of his health will immediately drop to 0

@@Cainfoe Yeah need the summons to hold aggro. First phase is an blink of an eye, throughout second phase just don't spam hehe Two casts at a time hold of a couple of seconds. It melts Malenia at ng+7 as well 🙃 Impenetrable Thorns, to the commenter above. Saw a video last night using it to one shot dlc bosses as it competes with pre nerfed parfumes in dmg output, so will probably get nerfed as well.

@@JackVogel2024 I just beat him today using Impenetrable Thorns. Two casts point blank gets him to phase 2 reliably. After that it’s just a lot of patience and some rng. Phase 2 is annoying because he has a lot of attacks where he either jumps in the air or zips around, so it’s hard to find windows to get a cast off that actually hits him. Plus, I was wearing Alberich’s set to boost thorns sorcery, which gives 6% extra damage per piece for a total of 24% extra damage. But basically no poise, so if you take any damage it interrupts the cast (and his p2 attacks all have aftershocks and projectiles that will catch you when you try o get greedy). The tank n spank method shown here is probably more reliable, I just wanted to be fancy. Took me like 50 tries. Ended up trading with him. Watched both of our bodies fall to the ground as the rememberance popped up. I’ll take it 😀

I fought him solo like 50 times and could not consistently dodge his second phase attacks enough to beat him so I decided to use the mimic tear and beat him first try with the mimic tear. I was using light load for better dodging and nagakiba blood build. He went from too hard to too easy...

One thing I love doing is All Rememberance + Bayle runs. I pick a weapon and build around it with other items/spells/incantations etc; however, this is the one boss in the game that just made me give up on that. I pretty always use some variation of this build for Consort. It's just not an enjoyable fight. Waiting 10-15 seconds for an opening to hit once or twice. Good luck casting a spell or using a skill. How boring.

@Cainfoe got the kill in under 4 hours. I did not shield poke tho. I used a sacred haligtree shield to block the spells in phase 2. In phase one and whenever I could sneak in damage I used prayerful strike. I did it this way because I was too lazy to go respec. I did use part of your strategy as far as blocking goes.

I beat him like this almost a week ago but i used Mogh's spear. It does very good damage on him, but i didn't use the skill attack on him. Just poked from behind a shield. Think about it, who do you have to kill to get in the dlc? The final boss is Radahn, so use Mogh's spear. Beat him first try with that spear

This is not a cheese, this is a totally legitimate smart strategy. Granted, it takes a lot less skill to execute than the "intended" way, but if a mandatory boss is THAT difficult, then nothing is off limits.
