One thing you didn’t mention is that the frames don’t hold a typical paper sizes. You need to make your work to fit.

finally got to see this video.. frames are important for prints. I've noticed it's difficult to find side slat frames for stretched paintings; that is frames that don't wrap around the edges. I just want thin wood strip, attached to sides of the stretched canvas, especially for abstract art, where you can clearly see the very edge, and maybe 1/4 inch of the side of painting. this way the viewer can see some of the layers of paint, even the history of the painting.

@@VeryPrivateGallery I see, you are referring to a Floating Frame. where the painting is inside the frame but with about half inch space between edge of canvas and inside of the frame. I prefer the wood slats to be attached directly to the stretched sides, allowing the face of painting to be pushed out of the frame just a bit so the viewer can see some of the side and the edges. they really don't sell those, you have to cut the wood slats yourself.

Antonio Cleaves A3 is 297x420mm, almost 12x16.5 inch, you will need a frame with mat at least this one from IKEA: HOVSTA 40x50cm or HOVSTA 16x20 inch.

Antonio Cleaves Sometimes I buy a large frame and get the mat made for me by a craft supply store. It’s more unique, and not as expensive as buying a customized frame.
