I just purchased a bulk pack of Shmetz needles. Best machine needles in my opinion. One needle seems to be lasting forever, although I do change my needles reasonably.

Fantastic information! I learned so much and realize I need a more comprehensive collection of needles. One question: I do have some unopened but very old needle packs, like 20 to 30 years...Are these still good or should they just be tossed?

Recently bought stretch needles. Schmitz claims they’re having manufacturing problems so their stretch needles are marked red instead of the usual blue but not to worry as the quality is not affected. How do you discard old and broken needles? What about the new jeans/denim spring needle which I found pricey? Are easy thread needles worth buying?

Good to know about the mislabeled needles! Thank you! I use an old pill bottle so that I know they're safe/won't end up in the carpet. Once the bottle is full, I toss it out in the garbage. I will use old needles from time to time to pierce my basting glue bottles when dried glue plugs the dispenser, so they're helpful to keep on hand! I haven't had a chance to try it yet, but it looks like its main intention is to be used in lieu of a free-motion foot which is kinda cool! We'll have to give them a try and see how they work. If we like them, we'll post a video about them :)

Hey, there SPO! Will a leather belt and tire I got from y'all for a Singer 127, fit a Singer 15-91?

Treadle belts are universal so it should work. The tire should work also since those parts remained the same throughout the years they produced treadle machines, but you would just have to test it. If it doesn't fit, we'd be happy to try our best to find one that does 😊

The only time you need to be cautious using your automatic needle threader is when you're using smaller needles (like size 60). The rest of the sizes should be just fine!
