Fantastic tips. Another reason to not put the wood chips around the root even though they come that way: MOLD. I just lost two new bare root roses to mold, because I put them in the planting hole, and it spread from one rose right to another because the chips were infected and I didn't know it at the time. I have a third now that I pulled up and placed into a pot to hopefully save. I've now, sadly learned my lesson!😥 Fortunately the company has offered to replace the plants for me next year, but now I have to do the hardest thing when it comes to gardening: being patient and waiting! Can't wait to see your blooms this year, Susan! I'm so jealous you found a Black Baccara in store! 😍 My HD doesn't even carry bare roots anymore, only potted. I'm not sure why either, we're also in zone 9b. I think there's now a stigma of buying "body bag" roses, so I'm really happy you didn't say humiliating things about them.

我一般不打药，蚜虫我直接用手捏掉😅 蓟马我会放一下黄板。主要的病害是白粉，只有小苗阶段会喷一下neem oil，但也容易烧伤嫩芽。据说copper fungicide 也很温和，但我还没有实践过。
