I have a question...I have an NVR box with 8 PoE ports that I plan to use with two bullet cameras. My question is .... whether I can use the remaining 6 PoE ports of NVR as switch ports for a small home network and avoid investing into purchasing a separate switch box. My other concern is whether these spare PoE ports would be 'Active or Passive' If these are Passive PoEs then....Will they cause other issues....? Wonder if these ports can be configured to act as Active PoE Switch ports. NVR box will be Ethernet connected to the Modem/Router. You can but you also get 12 v power with it and it can damage what you attach with it. So you have to take some precautions Nvr port is always active by default, you can make it deactive in nvr settings
