How to Choose Great Decorative LED Light Fixtures for your home

Here's a question I get all the time from home owners and interior designers:
How do I choose decorative LED fixtures?
Whether we're talking about a homeowner working on their dining room or bedroom lighting or an interior designer planning a kitchen renovation, how to handle decorative lighting fixtures in the age of LED remains a challenge. So let's talk about it!
Unfortunately, the big box stores aren't going to be of much help. To find really great decorative LED fixtures, you need to look for dedicated integral LED fixtures both online and in person. In this video, I'm going to take you through three things to think about when it comes to decorative LED lighting.
Integral LED versus bulb-based
Well-designed integral LED fixtures will do a better job hiding LEDs than bulb-based fixtures; they make a cleaner design statement and are more beautiful to look at.
Color Temperature in decorative fixtures.
Color temperature is a complicated topic (see previous video), but when it comes to decorative LED, options for color temperature become more specific. There are dangers in going too amber/orange but also going too cold blue. We'll look at some examples.
Dimming
Let's talk about making sure these fixtures dim properly. There is nothing worse than investing in new lighting and then having it flicker. In this video, we'll go through options for 2-wire phase dimming that will help you figure out the right dimmer to pair with your new fixture.
