Great video - love your ideas! I was impressed by your ‘page’ of sea elements. That would be a great ‘full page’ design for creating your own tissue paper. Thanks! Marj

I just realised you're in Oklahoma, my uncle moved out there several years ago. I think next time he visits us I need to send him to Hobby Lobby and Michaels with an empty suitcase beforehand - I imagine there would be an extreme excess baggage fee though lol! As always great information, I'm learning so much from your videos, some of the suggestions you make are like "Of course, that makes perfect sense, why didn't I thnk of that." and then I go away a very happy crafter with a place to start from rather than feeling overwhelmed by my stash. Thank you so much for sharing your knowledge and inspiration.

Oh wonderful. Lived here all my life - well except for one year and I don't count that. lol. Yes I think there would be an extreme excess baggage fee too. lol You could send a list to him and a shipping label. lol I'm so glad you find my videos helpful. That makes me very happy! Enjoy the process and feel free to ask questions. Are you in the Friendly Junk Journal People facebook group? It's a great place for more information like what I share here. :)

Linda, loved this video, got a couple of questions though. Q1) How do you STOP collecting stuff for a junk journal? Q2) Can you please say which magazine (and which issue) those lovely lovely sea themed stamps came with? I might be able to get a back issue.
@lindaisrael
@lindaisrael 6 жыл бұрын
Thank you, Fran. 1. Usually I collect from my personal stash, I may grab everything I own that I think I will use in the theme. Sometimes I don't even use some of the stuff, but If I have it handy I will see it and might use it, keeps the creative flow going. If I have to stop and hunt for something then the flow gets lost. Unless I know I have a theme coming up that I lack items I don't really shop a lot outside of my stash. When I buy things I usually find things that can be used in different themes so that I can use it over and over until It is gone or it is a tool that I can use over and over like the stamps. 2. Here is the magazine: creative stamping magazine issue 43 Good luck. It is a great set of stamps that I love using. Thank you for watching.

@@lindaisrael oh I didn't mean BUYING stuff. I meant collecting all that free recycling! Every time something arrives in the post, or we finish a box of tomatoes or cornflakes, or I see a disc of metal foil, or like the other day I found a weird bit of mashed green plastic in a carpark - and I either carefully fold the packaging (journal pages) or secrete the cardboard, (journal covers/pockets/tags) or think "moon" (the metal foil disc) or some new size of bubblewrap pops up or clothes hangers that remind me of a Saxon broach, or a spaceship.... it all starts to pile up!
@FranOnTheEdge

@@lindaisrael oh. Thanks for the magazine issue & name, I'll look that up.
@lindaisrael
@lindaisrael 6 жыл бұрын
Yes it does pile up for sure. I try to make myself use at least one or two things a day so I can use up this stash. I've also found that the gift of giving is a great way to share these items. lol But I get it, we look at things differently and then we collect so much! Have fun creating.

The Creative Stamping Issue 43 magazine is where the Sea themed stamp set is from. You might be able to go to their website and order a back issue. (found it here: www.moremags.com/papercrafts/creative-stamping/csi43) I'm really glad that I saw it at Barnes and Nobel a few months ago. I've used it a lot. And thank you very much. I'm glad you found it informative. Thank you for watching and leaving a comment.

If you don't have a theme, how do you go about collecting things?
@lindaisrael
@lindaisrael 6 жыл бұрын
Hello, Rhonda. Well I pick things that I like for example in this kzbin.info/www/bejne/nZWpc5yqhqusm9k I just grabbed things from my stash that I liked and most were florals. But it wasn't really a particular theme. Just grab a basket or box and select items you think you want to use. Then start pulling from the box to create your journal :) I hope that helps. :) Let me know if you have more questions.
