I've only had original trucks, so I have no idea what kind of bushings I should have for my new Gullwing sidewinder 2's. I weigh 92kg / 202 lbs. I don't do sliding or downhill, I only use it as a form of transportation. I live in the city so I need to be able to make really tight turns to dodge people while I cruise down the street but I want it to be steady as well for somewhat higher speed. Someone help me please!

Okay, genuine question yeah... In your professional opinion - in relation to the above trucks what is low speed? like 5-15km/h or 20-30km/h? (6-9mph or 30-50mph)

Great video! Your explanations are quite useful and complete. I'm setting up my first surfskate, trying to make the best cost x benefit possible. I'm working on a longboard 'carvy and grippy' enough to bring that surf feeling into the streets. Anyway, Im not a longboard expert but my research and your videos are directing me to this possible Set up: Deck: Similar to the Sector 9 Striker, 32 to 38 inches Trucks: Similar to the Gulling Side winder or Carver C7 or CX. Bushings: softs like cone style Wheels: 70 to 75 mm tall, 70 to 80A soft, 50 to 70mm contact, centerset maybe offset with shine skin and sharp lip Am i forgetting anything? can you suggest any decent fair price set up or brand?! Thank you and good job to you all!!

I am hoping to use a future longboard for travel i have never had one before but i am hoping to get paris v3 180mm 50° trucks do you think they will be good for getting around from things like work or even just going on things like trails and things while traveling? Im also hoping to get orangutang caguama 85mm wheels to go together with this and bones super reds bearings because from what i have seen they are the best within a certain budget. The paris trucks and the orangutang wheels are what im most worried about as i am using these for commute and need something that can take me over rough concrete and pavement that is not one hundred percent even has some breakage or cracks and from what i have seen the wheels are great for that. Also the board they will be going on is a junli amazon board as i have seen alot of things say that the more expensive ones are actually worse in some cases and i do not have money to get an expensive board just to take it apart and add my own things. It would also cost more money just to get the deck as if the original things that come with the board are good enough i could stick with them for a while. Sorry that this is alot i am just really worried about not getting something that will be good with that im going for and i do not have the money to experiment 😅

I must be weird i like it to be more responsive in the back. if any one knows about having the back and front truck response different any advice. I like having it easy to push in the back since i put most wait in the front because i ride a vector 37 the deep concave. Right now i make the bushings in the front tighter and the back loose i did it the other day and love it in gives great response when i want it and i don't have to fight when it's loose and has speed wobble, and when its tight and stiff. So any ideas im thinking of have 2 different Da maybe a size or 2 softer in the back?

Wow, very comprehensive - thanks Ross! Question. I've been building out my quiver and have been looking for an "all around skate everything" type of board. Certainly been doing a lot of research and I know what I'm looking for. I really like the arbor 44 genesis, but am leaning more towards this loaded overland board I cam across. I basically cruise and freeride most combined with a little downhill at lower speeds. I just moved to an area with much more hills and incline terrain. I definitely want a board with a double kick tail, but also want stability if I choose to hit more downhill at faster speeds (around 30mph). Can you suggest a truck/wheel combo that you think would fit this style of riding? Really appreciate it man! Cheers,

Its an older video but I currently am going back to downhill, I have a sector 9 - 39.75" with mission 1 tracks (9"), which i will convert into a street luge. My old street luge stayed behind when I moved to a different country. I tried it downhill, but the wobble is severe. how do i improve stability? By changing up the bushings alone will it help? should i get a smaller spacer for trucks so height will drop a bit? also, do you think i should drill new holes to make the trucks closer together? on my luge they were not so far apart. (currently at 2 feet). On the luge they were 20" apart. Any help is appreciated, also, if someone knows were I can get a luge in north amercia please link me up. Not sure it matters but i now live in vancouver.

Hey Ross, I have a question. I live in a neighborhood that has mellow, steep, and really steep hills, and I've been trying to get into freeride, so I'm gonna start fresh with a whole new board and setup. I'm going to be riding a Madrid Nessie (2015 model), Abec 11 Flashbacks, 1/8 riser pads, and 89a ultra Rebound Blood orange bushings in a double barrel combo on both trucks. I'm not sure what trucks to get though. I have a cruiser board setup on 50 degree base-plates, but for my freeride setup I want to have stable trucks as well as some responsiveness. I've been looking at Caliber II trucks, and I'm thinking about getting the set with 44 degree base-plates, since 50's seem too twitchy and too responsive, and 40's/42's seem too "dead." Should I get the 44's or the 50's?
@cruvty9 жыл бұрын
***** Haha alright I'll be sure to order the 44's then. Thanks for getting back to me!

I'd just go with some 10" trucks, because they'll only stick out 0.25" on each side and will be barely noticeable, plus they'll probably be slightly more stable than the 9.0" trucks.

I've been riding different baseplate angles, and bushing hardnesses and am having a difficult time finding a ride that feels good under my feet. I've ridden caliber 50's and find them to be the most fun however I ride faster everyday and feel like they aren;t stable enough to do certain maneuvers at speed like Crouch style sliding or diving into corners at high speeds. 44's calibers just aren't as fun and im not stoked on that. What do you recommend be my next step in finding my truck setup?
@pedromaciel457 жыл бұрын
Im thinking about gettin a Landyachtz Dinghy, which comes with 105 mm trucks and 63mm wheels. If i want to get a more freeriding and sliding setup ( I know this board isn't the ideal for it), should I get a wider truck?? keeping the wheels this size and also having in mind the wheel bites. Thanks, from brazil!

You can go for any trucks you like actually (just take 50 degrees) and put cup washers with some harder bushings you can take 2 barrel bushings for cruising (is also good for freeriding) but it will be a bit less wobbly and so good for you. Then you just gotta check out what Durometer you wanna have , which completely depends on the rider tbh. I'm 188 pounds and have about 93a bushings, there you usually have to try everything a bit. I mean your post is 4 weeks old you might have found something already haha
