Hey, I'm from Kerala doing engineering and is in my 5th semester of college. I chose CSE cybersecurity where we have same subjects for CSE and CYE students. In the S4, we have 1 additional lab of python and scripting and one of the subject changed(graph theory (cs) changed to MFSS (cy). And i do have 4 to 5 backlogs in my first year also coz i wasn't really aware of the first year subjects that really sucks. I think you maybe aware of Kerala's engineering college systems. What I know about my course is it is some sort of hacking and stuffs but the interesting part is, we don't even have a subject like that! So technically my question is, what should I actually do? Should I learn additional courses or stuffs or should I just clear all my backlogs or prepare for a good placement? And lately, i have heard that the government changed some internship policies for engineering and allows students to do internship for 1 year (the last year S7 and S8). So do I have to focus on that?

Hi Abhishek, It's great that you're thinking ahead about your career and education. Here are some suggestions based on your situation: 1. Clearing Backlogs:Priority: Clearing your backlogs should be your top priority. Having backlogs can hinder your progress and affect your placement opportunities. Try to develop a study schedule that focuses on these subjects. 2. Additional Courses and Skills:Complement Your Curriculum: Since your curriculum doesn't include certain practical cybersecurity topics like hacking, consider taking online courses or certifications in these areas. Websites like Coursera, Udemy, and edX offer courses on ethical hacking, network security, and more.Practical Experience: Participate in cybersecurity competitions (CTFs) and join online forums or communities. Practical experience is highly valued in cybersecurity. 3. Placement Preparation:Balance: While focusing on backlogs, start preparing for placements by practicing coding, aptitude tests, and interview questions. Websites like LeetCode, HackerRank, and GeeksforGeeks can be very helpful.Resume and Soft Skills: Build a strong resume and work on your communication and interview skills. Attend workshops and seminars to enhance your soft skills. 4. Internship Opportunity:Leverage the New Policy: The new government policy allowing a one-year internship is a fantastic opportunity. Gaining real-world experience can be invaluable. Start looking for internships that align with your career goals in cybersecurity. 5. Network: Connect with professionals on LinkedIn and attend industry events to find good internship opportunities. I did this in my time, and my whole 4th year was Internship which lead me to a job offer of 35 LPA CTC. 6. Balancing Everything:Time Management: Balancing backlogs, additional learning, and placement preparation can be challenging. Create a weekly schedule that allocates time for each activity. 7. Seek Help: Don’t hesitate to ask for help from professors, peers, or online communities when you're stuck. In summary, focus on clearing your backlogs first while gradually starting your placement preparation. Take additional courses to fill gaps in your curriculum and make the most of the new internship policy to gain practical experience. Balancing these aspects will set a strong foundation for your career in cybersecurity. Good luck with your studies and future endeavors!

You have to learn these things, one or two programming languages as per your interested domain, Learn Core Computer Science Fundamentals and make sure you understand it. Build a strong profile with great projects and tech contributions you can do. Start applying for jobs then, you literally have to apply for 100's of jobs matching your profile to get few oppurtunities.

❤Brother, I have taken drop last year but my result is bad due to chemistry, I am not getting computer science in any nit and IIIT and gfti, but I want cse. now, I am very confused. Should i drop again or should I chose LPU. I have interest in cse with specialization in A.I. will LPU be a good platform for me in this field. Bhaiya, please give me your genuine advise as my big brother. Does LPU really provide that good environment for genuinely hardworking students.

I'm making a detailed review and an honest take on LPU soon. The video will come up by next week. To ease your mind, I would say it's not that worth going for IIT by doing a 2 year drop and all. At the end if you work hard and get a good job at a product based company you, any IITian, 3 tier college student or tier 4 student all will be working with the same salary at least. (Like me). LPU is good for those who work hard and have strategy

Skills should be developed during your education time. Now since you have completed the degree, for masters go for a good college with good placement while doing it , build a strong profile in the first year itself. Use that to get an internship in a product based company in second year and a full time offer by the last semester. Target Product Based companies for a higher package and better life 🙏

@@MISY09 I can say LPU is a good place for hard working strategic students. You actually get good placements there. But not for everyone who took admission. But only for people who have good skills and great projects and strong profile. And these things are developed and made stronger during college time only
