Let's breakdown the statement "1 12" has almost the same output as 2 10"s" and why that's completely wrong. Using your example of the VMAX 10" and 12": The 12" has an effective cone area (sd) of 82.15²in with a total XMAX of 1.102". (0.551" One-Way) giving at total volumetric displacement (vd) figure of 90.52³in The 10" has effective cone area (sd) of 55.80²in with a total XMAX of 1.18". (0.590" One-Way) giving at total volumetric displacement (vd) figure of 65.85³in(each). Since there are two that makes the total total volumetric displacement (vd) 137.7³in. The 2 10"s have 52.12% more volumetric displacement (vd) than the 1 12". The 1 12" has a (vd) of 90.52³ but the 2 10"s have a (vd) of 137.7³... How do you consider the 12" being "almost" as loud?
