When I asked WD service center for data recovery they suggested for data recovery contact any 3rd party because they don't provide this service. But you can contact them and ask for the same

Do you need a receipt for the RMA?

It's not mandatory but when you register the product you'll need to upload the payment receipt/payment invoice.

Register the account first and then login to you account. Look for register a device option then using your serial number you can register the product with date of purchase.

NICE and INFORMATIVE VIDEO 👍🏼 I also generated RMA and submitted my 2TB HDD at OTC(Over the counter) at Ananya Infotel near Shyam bazar, Kolkata as they had not new HDD in stock. But they couriered a new HDD safely in 2 days. So does it required to register the new HDD in WD site?
