If you're rubbish like James you'll mostly take your car to the hand car wash and let someone else do the hard work - but it's rather satisfying cleaning your car for yourself. If you're selling them, it can also give you the opportunity to get it looking as best as you can ahead of taking the pictures and doing the video.
In this video, Autoglym invited James to their headquarters for a masterclass from one of their top cleaning experts. In this video you can mostly watch James being rubbish at it - but also pick up the top tips from those guys who really know what they're doing.

Fascinating to see a car master at work. His apprentice did OK too 😁 That earned a sub, thank you.

@@AutoglymUK there were some questions on what products we used in the episode. Perhaps you could post a list as a separate comment and I’ll pin it to this video so people can see?

Why do companies sell the public retail products and then have trade products? If i want to clean my car i want the best stuff to use.
@johnmelling9950
@johnmelling9950 2 күн бұрын
A lot of the Autoglym trade products are exactly the same as the retail products just with different name. Super Resin Polish=Radiant Wax, Vinyl & Rubber Care=Super Sheen etc. You may find some trade products come ready to use but the trade version is concentrated and requires diluting. Sometimes a trade product may not be available in the retail range because in untrained hands it could cause damage to the vehicle or user if used incorrectly. Theres no secret or better ingredients in the trade products that makes them superior to the retail. Having the best products helps but user experience and skill is just as important, if not more important than the actual product.

Great video but it seemed to miss out the polishing of the car? Do you do it in straight lines like the washing or in circles? Start at the top of bottom or does not matter? Cheers

@@brianridley1102 swirls. Lots of little swirls all over the car first and then polish off. As it’s clean it doesn’t matter where you start. I do it to every car I sell and usually takes about 20-30 mins

TFR??!! That’s a bit strong isn’t it especially on my plastic chrome bits. Like the techniques more than his products ( trade?)
@AutoglymUK
@AutoglymUK Күн бұрын
Don't let the name frighten you, the strength of TFR 's is on a sliding scale, not all of it is super strong caustic. As you would hopefully expect, the products we recommended to James were safe, effective and non-damaging. If you really don't want to use a product called a TFR, you can use the same method with an APC.

TFR = Traffic Film Remover Snowfoam = Traffic Film Remover All snowfoam is is tfr with added foaming agent. Bilt Hamber has a snow foam that is 14ph is that too strong?
