You’re a very good teacher. I watched you process the big blue cat a couple days ago and that was informative as well. I have an Uncle Henry like that. It’s served me well for years now.
Ive gone down the rabbit hole on this guys videos. Simply amazing! People like him will survive while the rest of us beg him for food!

I like your cleaning perspective. It's just the opposite of I what was taught. I have always started cutting along both sides of the top, starting at the head. First, cutting to the rib cage and then peeling it out and cut to the tail from top to bottom. Then, I flipped it over (still attached at the tail) and remove it's skin with the knife. I did enjoy seeing it and will try it at my next outing. I have 908 ft. Trinity River Frontage and the cats are giants. Yellow's, Blue's, Opp's, Alligator Gar, Alligator Snapping Turtles, and Softshell monsters. At 69, I been here 16 yrs and having a blast.

@lazypondfarmfishhunt1918 You do a phenomenal job cleaning the catfish, hands down better than me. I've brought enough cats home to know they can survive for hours outa water. I always feel guilty starting in on em, knowing they ain't dead yet. I did learn quite a bit on this video... I'll rewatch it next time I get a catfish. 👍

Thanks for the vid! I come from saltwater fishing and moved to tge Midwest a couple of years ago. Caught my first flathead last week and I didn't watch a video on cleaning one. Knocked the fillets off made nuggets and that was that! Good tasting fish! Thinking about cutting tail off next one and covering in ice for a whole day to firm up the meat and making it easier to work with. We always did that back home. What's your thoughts on doing that?

I’m so hungry now the thing I love about flatheads is there the working catfish and they taste actually better than the blue cat because the blue cat is just lazy sits on the bottom theflat-heads a hunter he moves a lot more. Their belly meat is unreal if you’ve never had it. Chattanooga tn baby
