The best thing to use for the burnt spots on cylinders is 0000 steel wool. Cleans ALL that stuff up with no worries of harming finish

I just got mine. Great tips. In the past I've used a 22 wire brush wrapped in an oiled patch for the cylinder.

An electric toothbrush, now that's clever!👌Great video and demo. Much like the boresnake, my choice is the Otis cable system. But yeah, I am not going to run a rod from the muzzle. Oh, I've got 4 more "converts" to the CLP.

I don't have a bore snake, do you think the extra long cotton swabs would work just as well? Since it's not metal, I don't see it damaging the barrel. But I thought those would be great especially for the cylinder and such. I also have synthetic treated cloths and the cotton pads. I wanted to be well prepared to keep my gun in pristine condition!

Hi there, new subscriber. Great video. I am new to shooting/cleaning and need all the good advice I can get. I tried initially to use the copper cleaning rod for the barrel but it was so tight thought I might damage it. Ordered a boresnake today!! 2 questions: 1. Are there different sizes to the mascara brush and what should I specifically order. 2. Recommendations for good patches (and patch sizes) that wont fray? I have been having issues with fraying patches. Thanks for the wonderful content.

After 200 rounds cleaning mine first time... the silver rings on the front of the cylinder is that lead? Took some scrubbing to get off on mine... will this hurt the cylinder?

just use balistol its non toxic
@adigaarmory3 жыл бұрын
Yeah... Ballistol is basically just mineral oil and alcohol in an aerosol. Probably ok for very light-duty use. However, it has extremely low evaporation temps, low boiling temps and a very low flash point [flammable], so it just quickly disappears in rapid or FA fire. Also, alcohol is a limp and weak carbon cleaner. So Ballistol's performance as a legit, duty-grade CLP is not even close to our product... frankly, it is not even in the same ballpark. Adequate ventilation is important with ANY gun cleaner due to the lead vapors from cartridge fouling, which is by far the biggest health hazard. Our product is perfectly safe to use as long as you have some normal ventilation and you don't guzzle the bottle due to the delicious citrus smell. It's not a juice box for the kiddo's, it's a CLP for inanimate metal objects.

@Alice Max i use it on my 1858 remington army and 1851 uberti navys it works great for black powder at least

@@Skeeter_Dee So Ballistol is the choice for 1850's blackpowder revolvers... makes sense considering it uses 1850's technology.

@Alice Max At least Adiga doesn't force rats and rabbits to drink their CLP during testing. Lame..www.ballistol.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/09/MSDS_TECH_BIO.pdf

@Alice Max amonia is too harsh and soap and water would probably work but it rusts the gun out. cyclic rates and pressures doesnt correlate to ease of cleaning. bp is much tougher to clean than my glocks, c96 or ar.
