*Used this today for first time **enjoyable.fishing** recommend caught four bass with it, it seems to be a solid reel so far. Very smooth and cast like a dream. I think its a good value.*

Thank you so much man I took my reel apart and couldn’t figure how to put it back and this video was very helpful. You just earned yourself a sub

Thanks much on your description. I have a Diawa, couple different features, but essentially the same. I am mostly a spin casting reel guy, so this is a new thing for me. God one for my grandson and am working on it for his birthday

Great vid👍🏼 I have a 15 yr old pro caster that’s in great condition but needs to be cleaned, this video was greatly detailed in the basics of reel care 👍🏼

One thing on the warm gear grease is a no no it collects dust and dirt rather quickly so I’d recommend a dry lube only makes a major difference or clean and keep it dry for best performance

i have the same reel as you, the Daiwa Exceller and i have problem with the pinion gear that seems rubbing the spool pin and making cricky sound when doing cast,6 out of 10 casts will making this cricky sound. I've checked the pinion gear tip got scar and gettin eroded a lil bit. im already disassemble and trying to figure out but no result, everything seems fine. any idea what is the problem making that happen?

Is the star drag suppose to click because I just bought a new Abu Garcia Black max and upon turning the star, it doesn't click.
@jroguexxiong3319 жыл бұрын
+Anthony Ngo The abu garcia black max doesnt come with a clicking star drag but the silver max and others do.
@Fishing4Fish967 жыл бұрын
Anthony Ngo you should just have a regular compression stack. No clicker. But be careful when taking apart and make sure you don't loose and washers in that stack.

Hello. Can i melt butter and use it to lube the drag and gears?
@seagullfisherman54018 жыл бұрын
+Biggest Smegma Smuggler on KZbin you can but it might attract ants. Better product is put some mobil one on there and for gears save up your ear wax butter it on gearing. I know you love Abu Garcia and Lew reels products work fine.
@PATHETIC_DISASTER8 жыл бұрын
very helpful, thank you. This month, my goal is to keep as much ear wax as as possible. Drag on my ABU's will be incredibly smooth for the next season. Bass better watch out because i'm going in and i'm going in deep.

Don’t put oil on the spool shaft or inside the pinion gear. Put a drop of oil inside the spool tension knob if you think it’s necessary to have the end of the spool shaft lubricated. And always flush the bearings clean before adding more oil.

I have the cabelas prodigy baitcasting it's just like that one but a right handed one but I hear soming grinding when I reel it or it feels like there's something in the way I checked it out, oil and lube and it still doses it I don't know what to do

So do u have to use reel grease and stuff or can u just use wd-40?
@TurnerMillsDesign9 жыл бұрын
Never use WD40 on bearings. Use oil or grease. WD is only ok for surface rust prevention, not lubrication.
@jroguexxiong3318 жыл бұрын
+Zach Van Niman NEVER use wd-40 for fishing reels lol.. i learned the hard way
@faithm.1738 жыл бұрын
Zach Van Niman if you are on a budget and in need of a quick fix, use ronson light fluid to de grease bearings, let dry for an hour and get some 3 in one all purpose oil or rem oil (remington oil for guns) to reoil those bearings. add one drop of oil per bearing and reassemble then enjoy :) it is a temp fix though. remember, reel oils and grease are made for reels :) good luck happy fishing
@Fishing4Fish967 жыл бұрын
Zach Van Niman WD 40 will clean the grease off of your bearings. It's a penetrating oil.

why didn't you lube the bottom white gear? why doesn't your reel have sealed bearings? it's called the worm gear!
@gilbertodomingo14546 жыл бұрын
This is a very misleading video. It is ALWAYS important to CLEAN your reel every time yo do maintenance. What this guy did here is basically try a bullet wound with a band-aid. Don't follow this video.
@BA_10026 жыл бұрын
Gilberto Domingo Yep, at least clean the bearings out before adding MORE oil.
@brasshnkey4 жыл бұрын
Yep, putting fresh lube on top of the old dirty stuff isn't doing anybody any favors. It makes me upset that some reel repair shops do exactly what this guy is going.
