We cedar shavings, I guess is form of pine. Like you said with their body heat it keeps them warm.

That barrel is not warm in the winter and that’s real facts and it’s a chemical barrel I would never get my dogs that barrel to live outside

Most outside dogs live in a dog house bought at Wal- Mart (Plastic) placed on the ground with no shelter!! These barrels came from a factor that makes organic salad dressing. No chemicals!! Only oil or vinegar in these barrels. Barrels have a piece of 5/8" plywood in bottom of barrel that creates air pocket from the underside of the barrel.It is also elevated off the concrete floor. I also use cedar shavings for the bedding. Barrels are located under a shelter to protect from rain and some wind. I have placed my hand inside these barrels when is was 20-degrees outside and it was surprisingly warm inside the barrel from the heat a dog produces when its cold. Thanks for your concern!!

Awesome video! Love beagles and rabbit hunting! Owned beagles as hunting dogs and pets. Would love to be your neighbor! I would trade you labor in taking care of your dogs when you're gone and even cleaning pens for a few hunts. Then of course we'd have to get in some crappie fishing...Maybe I could be your free hire camera man for your YT channel. Trade off, I get to download your waypoints for future personal use...Lol! You show a kennel full of feces and talk about cleaning the barrel? I can see that a food bowl is bathing in feces also. Get your cleaning routing in order. That is terrible treatment of dogs
