I love my Weber Performer, use it all the time in videos on our KZbin channel, I want to do a video on cleaning and painting the table top. Thanks for the video!

Looking forward to your video!! My work surface is stained and nasty again, ugh.

Thanks for the tip. You are correct. With more sanding it can be restored to a like new finish, which is what I did.

TY for this video. I had a Performer given to me yesterday and it is in great shape. The work surface could use some TLC and I will do this on Thursday, weather permitting. This is my 4th Weber grill. It joins Mt Weber kettle I put into a cart, my 22in WSM, but unfortunately I will be giving or selling my 1995 Weber Silver B. I have not used the Weber gas grill much in the last 2 years since I picked up the kettle. It is taking up valuable real estate on the patio.

Do you guys by chance have a video on restoring a metal table?

Thank you for a great vide. Is the performer table made from plastic? My one is cracked. Do you think I can join the broken piece to the fixed part of the table?

As an automotive painter of 40 years, I recommend wet-sanding. It will not plug up the sandpaper. Also, instead of using steel wool, use 3M Scotch-Brite of comparable grit (grey? or gold?).

I was happily shocked to find this specific video when I searched for "how to clean weber perfomer table". I just acquired an old (2005) Performer that I'm itching to use but the table is absolutely grody and was certain I would need to replace it.

Isn't there brush attachments for drill. It would have been a lot faster.

You need to get yourself an orbital sander :-P

Wondering if anyone has had to repair cracks? From pulling the cart around by the table I have some stress cracks right around the back screw holes.

A great tutorial but if you're going to do this, please don't do it outside. Do it indoors if you can, with a vacuum to help collect all of that micro-plastic dust. That fine plastic-particulate is the shit that ends up in our soil/food/fish.

Good call. Thanks for the tip!

Clean this thing outside like a normal human being ! Stupid plastic particulate!
@radish41054 жыл бұрын
@@kevinellsworth9318 Yo how can you be serious about grilling and maintaining your grills but not about the food you eat? Why tf would I want plastic in some cedar-planked salmon I lovingly grilled? Kevin Ellsworth, probably: "The environment is for chumps!!"

that table is a huge pain in the ass to keep clean, try out what i did. i got some of that sticky contact paper from Dollar Tree in a granite pattern. one roll will more than cover the entire table. the vinyl contact paper wont burn or come off and it cleans EASILY with a damp cloth just like new. they have other patterns, get what you prefer. this is mine. i.imgur.com/pbteG5h.jpg

i should add, it wont come off unless you want to pull it off. then its no problem. i meant, it wont lose its sticky from the heat. i had a previous pattern on there which i wasnt happy with (white with black flowers or something lame) and when i was in Dollar Tree again i saw this granite pattern which i loved. wrapping the table took me about 30 minutes because i'm not experienced, so if you know what you're doing it will no doubt go faster. if you get bored with the design or it starts to peel over time, just buy another roll. its a dollar. who cares. get a few with that same pattern and you can keep it looking new indefinitely.
