The blades come out too. Its hold in by magnet. So take them out just wedge the knife and take it out. Lots of slime cillects there. Also.. i recommend ipettie ceramic water fountain. Practically silent. There is also a fountain brush cleaning set on their website . I do recommend it.

I clean the whole thing once a week. Water change every 3 days

I thought the thing was just broken and I was about to buy another fountain in the next tab! When I was cleaning, blades came out too. I found the most slime and gunk in there.Thanks for the video, it works even better than the first day.

You can pull out the blade and shaft as it’s one piece and clean the magnet and inside that cavity as well

Your cats are beautiful! I'm thinking of buying this fountain to replace the ceramic one I have now. Only one of my two cats drinks from it and it's very hard to clean. The tower gets some kind of build up that I cannot clean even though I was washing it weekly. How loud is the water fall noise on this fountain? I couldn't tell from the video.

It's sort of a 'white noise'. It is definitely not bothersome and we never really notice the sound of it :) I'm not sure if that would work for your fountain, but if we get any build up on the top of ours, I use a mixture of vinegar, lemon juice and baking soda to scrub it off:)

Quick question about the filter. The instruction guide says you have to press firmly so the filter 'locks'? But I can't press it hard or get it to lock? It just sort of "floats". Is this correct or am doing it wrong?

I have the same fountain and I use triple action filters. However, my filter is always floating. Although I submerged and rinsed throughly, it is still the same. Have you ever had such a problem wih the filter?

We haven't had that issue, but I think the triple action filters are meant for the flower fountain, it may be that they are a different size

I believe this is carbon that is used to filter the water, nothing to worry about, we have the same every time we change or clean filter. It is not harmful to cats or humans 🐾💙
