My mom is a retired chef. This was how I learned too. People do not realize how much is done to a chicken carcass before it comes to us. Failure to thoroughly clean meat is 40% the cause for infections. That and not cooking food at proper temperatures.

When I was growing up my mother would rinse chicken under water to clean it. As an adult, I keep limes on hand to clean my chicken properly. Baybeeeee, this here is a pretty bird! I bet it was so so good.

Same. My mom just did water because that’s how she was taught. But ever since I learned the proper way to clean meat, I taught her too. Lol cleaning it this way makes a big difference 😂

I would use a tweezer to remove the feathers. I prefer using the lemon over vinegar bc it gives better flavor and gives better moisture. I take an empty spray bottle filled with water and wash it off. I than pat dry it with a paper towel.
