This is the true power of the Internet. Twitter and all the rest can go away but people helping other people solve every day problems. I've had my unit for 10yr and never knew these parts came out like many others here. I even went to go buy a new machine after mine started leaking everywhere, only to find out the new versions are made much poorer than when these were first released. Now I get to keep old faithful! Thanks so much

Sir...you are a genius! Like others, I didn't think of trying to 'break down' the central nozzle unit! Being in a soft water area, I don't descale all that often and have been in the habit of just putting the whole thing (the nozzle that is!) in the dishwasher every so often. So you can imagine what the inside was like! Now, here's the thing....what you didn't mention is the need to clean out the 'frother' slot inside the large sleeve! Wondering why our crema was disappearing over the months, I have been searching for clues and have previously come across the need to clean 'the three parts'! But, until now, I haven't found which three parts! We now have our crema back and I can't thank you enough.

Thanks for this. Mine was about to go into the bin but I'd just bought a ton of pods for it. Following advice from here, with the use of a cotton bud or several and only a bit of swearing I now have a functioning machine again! The nozzle was totally blocked with coffee grindings and little bits of silver foil from the pods. Thanks again!

Thank you so much for this! Very clear and gave me the confidence to push and pull on pieces that I never would have guessed would come apart. Like everyone else, I found an amazing quantity of gunk in there (I make lattes so both coffee and milk sludge), very satisfying to chip it off with toothpick and paperclip, and now it's working great. I was about to throw away the machine and about $50 worth of pods, this was a last-ditch effort and I so appreciate the video!!

Wow, thanks a lot! what a great video. My Tassimo had so much stuck-on coffee grounds. Like you said, it was clogged, so the milk could not go through the nozzle, so it came out of the top. It would have been nice, though, to see how you cleaned it. I soaked the parts in 2 parts water and 1 part vinegar for at least 30 minutes, and it loosened all the grime and made it easier to clean.

Sarah, I just scraped it clean as I was in a hurry but I'm going to soak all the bits in a vinegar mix (as you suggest overnight). Must get some more descaler as well. & thanks for your kind words.

Thank you!!!! I've been running a cleaning cycle over and over, and still, I was getting bits of crud coming out into the cup. Google search on how to clean a Tassimo properly brought me here. I've got the newer type, but the concept is still the same for the most part. Popped the nozzle out, that's where my problem clearly was!! Pipette brush through the nozzle and around the spaces cleared it all up instantly on the next cleaning cycle test.

Found one today, didn't have the service disc, returned to original dump location and asked around, found the owner and asked if she had the service disc, amazingly she had it. We went home and tried it out, only to find the machine kept shutting itself down every time I started the descaling sequence. Then I thought Ahah Check KZbin, someone would have posted something about tearing one down. That's when zzapper zzapper popped up with the exact solution. Thanks fro sharing, although I don't think I want to get hooked on the blackmail barcode system that Tassimo has adopted on their proprietary beverage dispensers.
