Hey, thanks for this - I got this far - but before I put it back together, I need help! You mentioned the float - is it the part that the filter fits over - (elevated and looks like the top of a salt shaker). When I get a good look down into that space - I see there is lots of cleaning to do. Inside the cylinder that the filter fits over had lots of food debris in it. I haven’t been able to figure out how to remover that cylinder to access the yuck. I’ve been trying and looking on line for several hours. I’ve exhausted my patience and available time, for now. So, I’ll put the 2 cleaned filters back and hope you have a tip or direction for me. Thanks!

Hi Brenda, thanks for your comment. Yes the float is the salt and pepper shaker looking thing. I believe it is typically screwed in and I wouldn’t recommend taking it out without a replacement. What I do to clean out the yuck is soak up all the water and gunk down by the float, then run a few vinegar and baking soda cycles. It never becomes spotless, but it sanitizes and cleans. Hope this helps!

My sister will thank us - I’m housesitting and helping with some preventative maintenance. She’ll never know how much time I spent, counting the youtube searching! We have a very similar dishwasher, same setup at the bottom. Ours does a loud buzzing sound during the cycle, on and off, it starts right after the initial trickling / draining sound when you start a cycle. It’s at the bottom of the machine. What might this be? Otherwise it works fine, drains, heats, cleans. But the buzzing is loud. We got it used locally.

Is it an electrical hum? Or something mechanical that is moving and buzzing?
