HOLY CRAP! My black ink has been screwy for like 6 MONTHS, and I've been either printing in green or blue or going to the local library to print stuff! I watched your video and you mentioned giving your black ink cartridge a good shake before putting it in (1:09). I was like, "Well what the heck! That's easy enough to try before I go through all the trouble of buying a kid and manually cleaning the print heads." Holy crap. It's like magic! It's printing again! THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thank you so much! My printer wasn’t printing at all until I tried this! I was afraid I would have to buy a new printer but this fixed it completely. I left the solution on for the max amount of time and ran the cleaning cycles several times like you suggested. Now it’s printing like new!

This is a very helpful video, and the process works beautifully. But for those of you who (against manufacturer recommendations) use refillable cartridges, you should double check that the cartridges don't simply need to be reprimed. This is especially true if the blockage is due to infrequent use. If you find that they actually do need cleaning, this is a spot on technique.

@@anightin Good to know. We are using an Epson WF 7710 for sublimation printing. We had some recent injuries that kept us from doing any prints for about 3 weeks, and suddenly had a printer with the nozzles jammed up. Fortunately, we also us a CIS system, and were able to use the syringe to push a small amount of air through the lines, and we're back up and running. For future reference, if we do need to do a full cleaning, do you know if standard head cleaning fluid will work on sublimation inks?

Any advice if you can't push any fluid through due to resistance , if you pull slightly it snaps back due to a vacuum. Will it just take weeks to slowly do it? It's been unused for sometime and yellow that's blocked.

Thanks for the reply, I have a couple of other queries: I have a 1 week old Epson WF-3620 printer/scanner, all was OK but now I have an incomplete print head pattern when checking, just on the black, not the colours. I have done 2 print head cleans and it has not got any better, should I try a third clean, and then what? Do you have any answers as to what to do next. Surely I should not have to use your print head cleaner on such a new printer? I have had permanent mains to the printer since installation.
@NormYip6 жыл бұрын
Thank you for the video. I have just used it on my Epson and it cleared the problem, which was 3 of the nozzles. Guess I don't need to get a new printer. :)

Hi, Good video, but I have a query about the instruction to leave the printer powered on - do you mean leaving it fully switched on with the power button permanently lit, or is it sufficient to just have a permanent mains feed to the printer, but not actually switched on at the button?

John Bayliss permanent mains is all you need

I thought that once you took out the ink cartridges you had to replace them, but you allude to using the ones you took out. I use a couple of Epson printers one being new and the other is about 15 years old (CX6600)
@anightin4 жыл бұрын
If you're cleaning for the second or third time you can reuse cartridges but it's best to use new ones if it's the first time.

Nicely done. I have a Epson 1280 with one stubborn cyan port not printing. Just purchased some Ekuten cleaning solution from Amazon. I am going to try warming solution as you suggest, this I haven't done yet. Thanks, William

Thanks for the video. I tried the method but now it doesn't recognize black and cyan cartridges (even though it printed out some pages after the fix application). Any idea what I did wrong and where to go from here? Thank you.
@uygar846 жыл бұрын
Just remembered, I think black and cyan cartridges were running low prior to the fix attempt, can it be that I ran out and that's the cause?

Printers often don't like old cartridges being reinstalled. One way of overriding this is to remove the cartridges and pull the power cord out. Turn the printer back on and insert the cartridges when prompted

I have an epson artisan 1430 and I put in new ink cartridges, but my yellow does not print even though there is ink inside. is that because the ink is not compatible with my printer? or does it have to do with the cleaning the inside?
@anightin7 жыл бұрын
If the printer displays an error message it's probably the cartridge, otherwise its a blocked head

hi. after cleaning my printer, i tried to print it but none of the ink is showing up. my paper is blank. why so? may i know the reason why. another thing is, after cleaning it i tried it immediately but the printer smoked up. your advise is much appreciated. thank you.

Hi! I purchased your kit and am about to try to clean my printhead. I have an Artisan 1430 and I am able to move the printhead freely into position, but the place where the cartridges are inserted has a lid which is basically obstructed by the front of the printer. So, I cannot open it completely to access the inside and insert the tubes. I purchased this specifically because your product listing on Amazon had a question answered by your team that said this kit works for Epson Artisan 1430 models. Is there a way to circumvent this to access the inside and attach the tube? Is it advisable to try to remove the printhead lid? Thanks!

Hi I followed all instructions but now my print check is coming out blank whereas before it was just black patchy, any advice would be appreciated. My printer is only a year old and only been used 6 times, I've had 3 black cartridges in it but used them trying to clean heads as it wouldn't print the black ink. Is the printer broken or does it just need a few more cleans?
@anightin8 жыл бұрын
It's probably air that's got into the head during cleaning. Flush with another 0.5ml then replace the cartridges straight after. Give them a shake to make sure there's ink in as well.

Hello, can someone help me please, I'm pretty sure my heads are blocked as the printer hasn't been used in a long time around 2 months now). I've bought and used the solution, but it's saying the ink is empty so won't do a print test or clean. I'm using a CISS so the ink isn't empty. I've reset the ink chip many times but it won't continue. I've already tried sucking out the air. What should I do next please? My printer is an Epson Stylus Office B1100.
@anightin7 жыл бұрын
I would try taking it to a cartridge shop, to see if they can get a set of inks to work with it. This helps you work out if the problem is on the CISS chips or the printer
