@@superpixelmaster846 Sorry! I mean, it's under 5 minutes... I never manage to get one of my *real* videos short like that 😅 Wasn't meant to be diminishing in any way!

Great video, always nice to see how other gamers/collectors do it. I've always pulled the board out and used a pencil eraser. Thanks for sharing dude.

Pencil eraser is also a light abrasive, but the magic eraser and some alcohol is definitely the way to go.

I personally dont recommend using a magic eraser at all. With it being abrasive id rather not risk damaging the cart. I prefer to take the board out and clean it with a white art eraser to erase the dirt. It's A method that ive been using for 11 years with amazing results and success. Its not abrasive and doesnt leave really any residue. Use canned air to blow away any eraser shavings, then use a Qtip and dip it in 90% or higher iso and dab the access on a paper towel then clean both sides of the leads on the cartridge and use the dry end of the Qtip to dry off any access. Ive saved hundreds of games this way. Its tedious but it gets the job done. I highly recommend that method for everyone. You can use any type of white art eraser you like, if its a square one or the one in a click pen. it doesnt damage them in any way. cant recommend that method enough.

I agree with you for overuse, it should be used as a tool and sparingly only when absolutely needed. But again, valid point and if the game and contacts are in good shape a good clean with some alcohol and qtips are definitely in order. Abrasives should only be used if needed.

@@superpixelmaster846 Dont forget about the white art eraser. It works wonders, especially if its just dirt

I use them sparingly, but have had several carts where it was necessary to use a magic erase in order to restore a readable contact. I use it in combination with DeoxIT, so there's some lubrication involved. Then I finish it off with another pass of IPA. An art eraser comes in handy when even those two methods can't complete the job.
