Here's how I clean my mochi squishy toys and a hack to make them less sticky!

Another thing you can do if you don't have cornstarch is sprinkle some baby powder on a paper towel and roll the mochi around in it. This doesn't make them smell like the powder

Ooh actually you could work this to your advantage. If you're like me & like smells, you can use scented powders like lavender etc.

What you can also do to make them less sticky is to rinse them in really cold ice water, and then let them air out :)

i do the same but with baby powder instead, the texture of it works sm better for me. i also use a soft paint brush or makeup brush to spread it evenly :)

When you use flour or corn starch, it actually kinda leaves some chunks on the squishy, which can get all over your hands and feel uncomfortable , while baby powder is more finer and won’t have chunks on it

i have a routine i use, ill share it with y'all! 1. Fill your sink (if u have multiple) 2. Add laundry detergent. 3. Put the mochis in. 4. Wash them and (opt.) add body wash. 5. Dry them then they feel brand new :) (they're not sticky after that btw)

I advise using a makeup brush so you don’t get to much so like a blush brush and a smaller one to get in small areas and if no corn starch you can use baby powder

I wash it with just water, works so fast, and then later rub a bit of baby powder onto the palm of my hand and then just roll the mochi on my hand and it gets just the perfect coating without being needed to cleaned in any other way.

Yep. That’s how you do it. Some sellers even tell you to put corn starch on them ;). It makes them last longer.
