thanks for this! I've been wanting to use safflower, but a question I have is that with turpentine cleaner, the pigment tends to sink to the bottom, giving you the chance to reuse the turpentine. Does the same happen with safflower oil? Can you reuse it?

Yes! The pigment does settle with oil mediums just like with solvents. It does tend to settle a bit quicker with solvents, and with oils the medium gets murky fast, but I still keep using it over and over and it works fine. If I need a super pure color like white or something, I'm just mindful of wiping off my brush after I dip it in the medium in case any floating pigments stick to the brush. I've also been using Eco-Solve recently from Natural Earth Paints instead of Safflower Oil and it's life changing - highly recommend! I think I may try some of this safflower for cleaning. I've found the mild fumes from gamsol are disturbing. You do a really good job on your vids. May I ask how you edit them? I use Lumafusion, but I don't do anything advanced😝

Yes! the fumes are awful - I got really tired of them. Safflower and soap/water works great. Not as well as solvents, but good enough. Thanks so much - I use Final Cut Pro to edit. It's the best!
