Thank you for, I have a few super dry yuckies…. I have all ways used the simple green diluted and it works well for me.

The thing I use to clean all my stamps is hand sanitizer . It is cheap and so effective but as a bonus when you clean the back of cling stamps it helps them cling again.
@MsLouisVee9 ай бұрын
Wow, that’s great to hear I’ve resorted to using the Aileens tacky glue (tack it over and over) when my foam backing has lost its cling.

For the hardened stamps like that eagle one, first clean the stamp with Staz on cleaner, then brush glycerin on it leave it overnight refreshing the glycerin every six hours or so just let the glycerin soak in, and it will soften the rubber stamp so it stamps like new. That’s why I miss the mounted red rubber stamps. 25 years and still going.

Do you think mineral oil would work as well? Where I am it's much cheaper than glycerine. Thanks

For 25 years, I’ve used nothing but baby wipes. never had a problem with it. The stamp chamois works well as well.

I need to clean a bunch of stamps that I bought on a live sale. It kills me when i see stamps that are not cleaned. I mostly have stamps on wood blocks. I only have had one stamp that hardened and i still didn't throw it away. Later I had the bright idea to lightly sand the rubber. Viola! It works perfectly now. I have over 4,000 rubber stamps and some that are over 30 years old. I am more selective in what i keep now and I give them to friends, donate to an artist foundation and a thrift store. Thank you sharing ❤

That is such a great idea to sand the rubber!! I must try that 😊 Your stamp collection sounds incredible! I bet you have some beauties in it x thanks so much for your comment and watching Laura 💕

Same here. And I treasure my 25 year old mounted rubber stamps, because those were truly great images not generic like the acrylic stamps you see today. They were drawn by great artists

I use the dish soap for my clear stamps too. I find they do not stick to a block or stamp platform after a while. I love my trusty old toothbrush too. Keeping stamps clean is a form of protection to keep them longer. We have to protect our investment. Cool stamps---a real variety. (Mary)🇨🇦

Now that’s something to try! I’ve only washed my wood mounted stamps like this… I must try it with the acrylic! Thanks for watching and commenting Mary! 🙏

Just please don’t use an old used toothbrush. Remember they’re full of bacteria and germs reactivated it when you wet it.

I use dawn dish soap and a scrub brush. Then set them on cushy paper towels to dry. Great minds think alike. I like the micro fiber cloth idea.

I saw another video that said do not dunk or get excessively wet because it will damage the glue use to hold the rubber to the wood. Is that true?
@Bellacraft Жыл бұрын
Hello, thanks for watching! I’m not sure about that advice, but I made this video over a year ago and I haven’t had a single issue with the glue coming off! This way seems to have worked well for me so far 😊
@MsLouisVee11 ай бұрын
Try not to wet the glue to the wood mount too much. It probably won’t hurt it but I try to keep it dry as much as possible and just work on the red rubber part.

Yes, sometimes you have to resort to light sanding, then clean with Stazon on cleaner, and if necessary soak in glycerin

I did this with my other stamps! I should do it with this lot too, it’s just very time consuming and I’d rather be crafting instead. I think that’d be a great project to do on weeknights after work when I don’t have much energy to craft though! 👏❤️

I do it that way sometimes, but yes that’s a better way to prevent over inking and to give a more even coverage. I think I just like the feel of the blocks in my hand so I wanted to hold them 😆🤣😂

I had heard soap damages soap is that not true or just not a worry if you are doing this only once. I’m looking for ways to clean acrylic off of stamps.
@Bellacraft2 жыл бұрын
I haven’t heard that it does damage the rubber. Maybe if it’s harsh or if you let it soak In too long it may become unstuck to the block. If the stamp is useable and the image not affected, I wouldn’t bother cleaning it. But if you have heavy paint in it that distorts the impression, it’s definitely worth cleaning and risking, because you can’t stamp with it anyway.
