How to Clean RC l rc cars

How I clean my RC cars and help keep them clean!

Your cleaning technique is nice for only dusty areas. Where I run mine is a majority of dirt, mud and water. Air compressor and some spray doesn't work good at all. I always spray my RCs with water and either blow dry them or leave then hanging to dry mostly. Then I spray it with WD-40 and let it dry as the WD-40 gets a lot of the water out of the rest of the RC. I've never had a problem with water intrusion with my method.

That’s the worst thing to do. Especially using WD40 anywhere near bearings.

Yeah similar here. My trucks get a lot of mud on them and after day of fun I always spray them down with the hose outside and leave them to air dry outside before bringing them inside. Been doing that for years and never have a problem with my electronics or servos doing that.

You can use water if you dry it realy well. But only if its waterproof

How does the silicone eat t the dirt? surely the dirt is still there but just underneath a layer of silicone so not visible.

it doesn't eat the dirt it just makes it easier to clean. after cleaning the car I apply another layer of silicone to further seal it.

I been using that stuff for years makes you rc look new I use water then blow it off then soak it with that spray

Where did you get a Bigfoot body to fit? I want to do a build with a 78 F250 body.

If youre talking about the LMT it is the JConcepts 93/95 ford f250 for the ClodBuster. All their Clod bodies should fit as long as you remove the rollcage.

I would highly recommend doing this with a mask and gloves. Also outside in a week ventilated area. And without so many opinions. Do you know why no one listens to you? Because its fun to take rc to the beach. Lol. Have fun with the hobby. Don't turn into this grumpy guy huffing pb blaster lol

I appreciate you using a different product. I started to clean with Sprit Thinner, then I changed using Green with water and that has worked very well today. I have purchased the Foaming Crystal Cleaner/Degreaser Aerosol. Many folks yet have mentioned it works great with Foaming Crystal. Thanks!

Degreasers aren't good around bearings or gears as they need oil or grease respectively. I do use degreasers from a spray bottle myself but I try to avoid hitting gears or bearings and if I do hit any of them, I make sure to reoil or regrease those parts. There are two that I actually pull the bearings from after a few runs and either clean or replace but those are the ones that get the messiest.
