Hello Jonny! Here is a story I wrote about this issue way back in April 2018: Our refrigerator was making noise so I decided the solution was to clean the coils. I pulled the fridge out of its cubby such that the rear faced the dining room and computer station. I unscrewed the rear bottom section and vacuumed the coils there. I still saw a lot of fuzz under the fridge. So I went to the front and attempted to vacuum there. That proved ineffective as one really cannot get the vacuum in there at all. I quickly thought of a plan: I grabbed the leaf blower from the garage, brought it into the kitchen, plugged it in, and set it on maximum as shoved it into the bottom front of the fridge. That should clean it, right??? Unbeknownst to me, a huge plume of dust and debris was being shot out from the rear bottom of the fridge covering both the dining room table, my son Grant who was playing on the computer, and my wife who was sitting at the table. It was like a mini Mount Vesuvius erupting in the house. My wife was frantically yelling 'STOP! STOP!" - but the leaf blower was much too loud in that confined space for me to hear her. I shut the leaf blower off and looked under the fridge - and WOW - it was fully clear of all dust! I got up and peeked around the fridge to tell my wife of my success. Suffice to say, my wife was not as impressed by my cleaning solution as I was - and she stood in a slowly falling cloud of dust. This is a true story - not my usual April Fools day story joke. The real April Fool's joke is on my wife Jennifer who has to live through this stuff on a near daily basis! HA! HA! HA!

🤣 great story. I've thought about using the blower, a air compressor would be perfect, but I still don't have one. I thought better of the blower idea after I 1st cleaned one and saw just how much dust these collect in a short period. Thanks again for the funny visual 😆👍

As an appliance technician I can say this will absolutely save you money and grief. Do it once or twice a year. It’s fast. It doesn’t need to be perfect if your coils NEED to be clean to run efficiently. Nice work !

Move the frig to an outside door, after removing panels, then use a leaf blower to blow all that dust outside. Easy peasy lemon squeezy

Great idea 👍 especially if fridge right next to a door

That's brilliant. I only need to move my fridge 6 feet and whala! Thanks for the tip. I was dreading having a think layer of dust all over my house.

There are more coils on a lot of refrigerators behind that first row, like my Maytag. The only way to get to those coils is to empty the fridge and lay it on its side or tilt it enough to get under there. Just cleaning the front row is not enough.
