Lorie, you saved my sanity!!!!!!! I love my Addi (large and small), but holy moly, the company could have and should have provided explicit written instructions about how to clean and fix these machines. Every part should be named, not just the obvious “gold ring,” and the corresponding screws should be identified. I should not have had to spend nearly 2 days on this fiasco. I nearly despaired of getting the machine back together and then I found your spot-on professional video. THANK YOU!!!! Now that it’s back together, I must find some waste yarn and tested it out.

Hi Lorie, you did an excellent job on your video. I have seen a couple videos and so far this one has been most explicit, slow and easy to follow. 👍

🙂🥰 Thank you, Lori. I have watched at least 4 videos on Cleaning and putting the Addi back together. My handle went haywire, so I had to take my Addi completely apart to fix that issue. I didn't know how I was going to go through the steps to get that machine back in working order. Your video did it for me. I had to watch your presentation several times, however, that's, a good thing. This is now 04/11/2024 I finished at 11:15 p.m. Sometimes I do my best work late night. You are spot on with your instructions.

I don't use grease on mine, they're plastic..I.just use canned air to blow out all the yarn fibers..

I like using a straw cleaning brush on the gold ring to get in the slots where the teeth go. Saves my fingers and keeps the rag from snagging.

Hello, thank you for this interesting video. I had trouble windding the ring with the notch to go back and forth, and everything was off, now everything is fine, i have fixed this whit you. Thank you very much.

When I was watching your video about cleaning the Addi. And when you came to the gold ring. That where I inspected my teeth and they were grinder down. So, yeah. Have to order a new gold right. Makers Mercantile the web site you gave me. There out of them right now. When they get more in they will email . So, that was nice. They let me know. But, thank you again for helping me.

Great video! Thank you so much. Question: how did you add those numbers? Did you use labels?
@LorieSimpson-ng5hk10 ай бұрын
I went on Etsy and bought the tiny typewriter numbers from Pastel Stickers. I took off the red ring from the machine and CAREFULLY superglued it on to the correct numbers. Just be careful

@@LorieSimpson-ng5hk I hope you do make more videos on what you're making ion the Addi or anything else that you do on the Addi. You are clear and precise in your instructions. Thank you.

I used the stickers on Etsy from Pastel Spell stickers. I took off the red ring and used tweezers with a dab of superglue on them. Just be careful when doing this. Make sure you take it off the machine first.

Before you do this again, take a permanent marker and mark critical places, such as where the black needles go and how the legs go on before you dismantle that part of the Addi. Example for the legs mark with 1 2 3 4 next to where the screw goes in and then in the rim where the leg screws seat.

Hello! Was the grease you were cleaning original from the factory? Or was it something you added previously? Thanks.
@annwithaplan976611 ай бұрын
It must have been, because she said she had never cleaned that one before.

This was the first time that I cleaned this Addi so what you saw was from the factory. The Grease that I was using was from Napa and it was White Lithium Grease

I thought a person had to clean the handle area, part of tne interior winder stuff that makes a carriage go around....?
@Pheebs776 ай бұрын
Soak the pins in hot soapy water then scrub with a soft toothbrush? That would get them spanking clean...... I've got one of these on order, can't wait to have a go with it!

Hi, I took my machine apart and put it together, I did this about seven different times, and it is not working properly. There's one part of the revolution, of the gold ring which holds the needles, which seems to be harder to turn if that makes sense, And I am sure it's going to eventually skip. I took it apart several times to make sure everything was put back together correctly and greased. Just as aside this machine is only 2 months old. I'm so disappointed that I took it apart. Now it's horrible and I am not sure if I should return it and see if the authorized retailer who I bought it from can fix it. I'm sure they're going to charge me money because I've already taken apart and it's my fault that it's probably not working. But as a cautionary tale, I would hesitate to tell anyone to disassemble their machine. Just a note I am very mechanically minded. So not a dunce when it comes to working with tools and parts.

I am not telling anyone to take their machine apart, however if you do, please be careful when taking it apart and make sure that you take your time and correctly put it back together. This is a difficult machine and not all the screws are the same size.

I know what she is talking about mine does the same thing. But I just kept taking it apart and eventually got it to work. @LorieSimpson-ng5hk
