Oh my goodness…….you just answered several questions I had about cleaning your implants!! One question I have that no one has been able to answer is : “ When they put my dentures they made me, and and in about 12 weeks hook them to my 8 implants and they said I will have to wear them for 4-6 weeks, how will I clean those acrylic dentures without them cracking or breaking till I get my permanent ones made. Also, they put caps on my 8 implants at the time of surgery and in order for them to hook anything to my implants, they said they will have to do another small surgery and cut a slit on each side where the implants are, so they can take the caps off so they can hook the hybrid piece that holds the teeth and screw it all into place.” Have you seen this done before or did something similar to it. I would be so Grateful for a reply back. Take Care……5 Star plus! Take Care, Blessings to you my friend…. Debbie USA.

I used a regular pick floss for years on my single implant,never had any pain/bleeding ect. when my crown got loose and needed replacement after 3 years of basic pick floss cleaning my implant was completely clean,no issues. I think if it had any debri like in your picture it would smell,i never had any bad smell. I also from time to time use a water pick. But now my hygienist told me that the pick floss can damage the gum under the crown and lead to infection/loss of the implant and told me to use interdental brushes,I bought the smallest ones but it hurts like hell,i cant even get it under the gumline on one side under the crown like I can do easily with a regular floss. My implant itself is a bit crooked so they shaped the crown to look even, so on one side theres no space while on other side the interdental bristle goes in normally. Dentists are so confusing,it's impossible to clean with the smaller bristles, it take me 10 seconds with a floss pick to get under and remove the debri very softly,now my hygienists is telling me i should use those small bristles that causes pain and doesnt go under the crown. Can you even damage the gum under the crown of implant if you clean with a pick floss?Im not using a regular floss,im using good quality pick floss that's gentle on my gums so I cant even wrap it around the implant and cause actual damage,all im doing is pushing that pick down to the end of the crown,bringing it close to the crown and slowly raising it up to raise up any debri.Isn't that's the whole point? Not those stupid ''tepe'' bristles that go from side to side like it's cutting into my gums while trying to push it to clean under the crown.With a regular floss im not even touching the gums to begin with.And my hygienist wrote down 0.5mm bristles and im using 0.4mm and it's still to big. Also I used implant floss but it's not for me with natural teeth and only 1 implant,the floss itself was to thick and after a few uses i noticed that it caught around the implant and got stuck under my gums,those work only for people with full implantation with no natural gum,no for people like me where the pocket is deep. Everytime I go to a hygienist I get random stuff recommended that simply doesn't work. Also it's impossible to find any info on people like me who have ALL natural teeth except for 1,all the info how to clean is shown on people with fake gumline with full on 4 implants where you can access the abutments to clean them easily.

Since I stopped eating sugar a decade ago apart from minimal and occasional lost no more complete teeth. As Dr Greger says, do gorillas have tooth brushes? When I was growing up sugar on everything and the NHS was an extraction service. If I'd gone on going to them I'd have no teeth left. They pulled out teeth to make more money.

@drgurssehmi4 жыл бұрын
To be honest, you can only tell once the bridge is removed. Your dentist will be able to do this for you. Some dentists like to make a right seal with the gums, so you can't get super floss in, and this is fine, as long as when the bridge is removed, the gums look healthy.
@carlr2874 жыл бұрын

Within the last 12 months I have had Hybridge implants upper and lower. Where I have most issues is food getting jammed under them. Almost immediately I have chunks of whatever II happen to be eating which is uncomfortable and a bit gross. Especially when food works its way out at any given time. My only recourse is to floss or use my water pick which many times is not possible. For one example, if I’m out for dinner with friends. It’s a given that I’ll end up with food underneath both the top and bottom. I take every moment that I’m alone to force air between both upper and lower to remove all that I can which can be a disgusting thing. Or I force whatever I happen to be drinking between them. I do this if I’m with my wife only and she says it grosses her out. And I don’t blame her. Then during the day things can work their way out and I either have to spit it out or swallow it which is definitely gross. I never expected for things to be like this. I’m sorry if it’s hard to think about but the more I can tell you the better you can understand. Thank you Ray
