Do not do this with a 3 inch thick shag carpet. 10ftx8ftx3inches of water = nearly a thousand pounds. Wash it while it's already on top of the car because you'll never be able to lift it.

I do this with detailing quite a bit on rugs and upholstery used a deep cut Degreaser as well if you have deep-set and stains and if you need to get extra set in stains try this for an extra little secret in the detailing World especially in your car one cup of 91% rubbing alcohol clear kind only one teaspoon of Dawn dish liquid 1 quarter cup distilled vinegar and it will kill any smells by the way 4 tablespoons of Windex without ammonia do not use the type with ammonia it will bleed your colors in your rug especially a darker upholstery Shake It Up let it sit for about 3 to 5 minutes tilts bubbles fade a little bit you cannot go wrong with this I've been using it for years 1 all types of upholstery the only thing you cannot use it on is leather and Pho leather when you apply it let it sit down into the upholstery for a few minutes suck it up with a what vac the key to the entire thing is a wet dry vac you must have a wet dry vac when you are cleaning any type of carpet or upholstery if not you were just going to smear the dirt and sand and grit down into your carpet and you are going to cut the fibers which is going to make your carpet look even dirtier after you are done which is going to make your work go down the drain I hope this helps everyone stay safe

Ruthie's vlog World hang it over your fence. That’s how we dry our rugs. If you don’t have a big fence, lay something down on the grass like a couple bed sheets and let your rug dry that way. I have dogs and kitties, that would lay all over my rugs if I put them in the grass, that’s why we use the fence.

Um, No. I would never put my rug on the filthy concrete and then wash it like this. Too much soap will remain in the carpet. You need to hang the carpet and was the soap out of it not into it, This will take days to dry and it will be stiff with the left in soap.

I think the car wash is a good idea! But, my only concern about the car wash is: Your putting your rug on the ground; and it's dirty from all the cars coming through there. Cars/trucks could have leakage of oil or other things coming from underneath their vehicle , and that could get into rug. IJS maybe I'm being OCD about it. 😂 I think I would hang it across the truck and scrub it and rinse it down, if you have the extra person for help. I scrub my rugs with a clean broom and scrub brush for stains and rinse mine outside with the water hoes (get the attachment for your hoes, that you can adjust your water pressure) and hang it across the patio railings or fence to air dry for the whole day. 😷💯🥰

while it is a easy way to clean a rug idea, it is also a very dangerous idea. First of all, you are taking a rug that you use in the house to a place where various chemicals are washed off of vehicles daily and if you think that these dangerous chemicals are all going down the drains then you are wrong!....Then you are taking these rugs back home with all these deadly chemicals on them and now you have them in your home which can be dangerous for breathing in every day in your home. I have seen poisonous deadly chemicals being washed off after a hard days work by pest control companies, weed companys etc. so because of that I would never lay my rug down on the cement of a car wash and then expect those rugs to be sanitary, And if you have pets or small children in the home then they are closer to the ground every day breathing this into their lungs every day and now your home has become a danger zone. also thats not to mention what harmful chemicals are in the soaps and waxs and spotless cleaners that these car washs use to clean cars. If they contain any type of petrolium or chemicals like that these are poisons and can cause cancer. I would never do that!.....

Not sure it's a good idea to walk over your living room rug with your outside shoes.. Ever wiped your wet shoes on your rug at home? Those stains ever come out? Beside throwing the rug directly on the drain of a car wash, where ALL the filth of cars flows out, including soot, oil, grease, etc., which will soak nicely into your rug. Finally, to just have it soaked in mild temperatures, is a guarantee for mildew. This was a demonstration of how to make sure you can throw away a somewhat dirty rug that just needs some proper cleaning at home. At least it was funny :)

Nice! Subscribed! I have done this on top of my car, but with a truck bed, I used a couple 2X4s between a set of ladders to dry. Obviously this takes one or two patients friends! One thing to add is that time and soaking is what really helps dislodge dirt particles.. so if you have a way to wet it and let it sit before the hose time starts (maybe dump hot soapy water from a cooler brought in the truck?) even 5 minus helps get more dirt out without have to agitate, which will shorten he life of fiber products.
