I jave this machine and it is really a quality machine. It's a simple machine, but worth the coin. It makes great stitches and have blistering speeds. Just like the 301. The 301 can really put down some perfect stitches. But, the 1500S stops when you want it to, while the 301 can lay a couple extra after you let off the gas. LOL. Both great machines.

what do you call the part of the machine that the bobbin case fits in? I had a flood in my sewing room and there is a tiny bit of rust in there. someone suggested I take that out and I have NO clue how to do it? it's not the bobbin and it's not the thing the bobbin sits in - its the part of the machine that holds that assembly. I thought it was called the bobbin case.

I'm not sure of the name. I would take your machine in for proper servicing. I'm very sorry for your flood. How awful :(

It’s the shuttle. It’s more complicated that other machines. I took mine to my repair guy and it’s back to greatness

is the shuttle the housing that the bobbin sits in? not the bobbin assembly, but the part of the machine that hold that assembly? I don't think it comes out easily like a drop in bobbin case might.
