I thought you were going to show how to clean the "Pilot light" jet or orifice? ? ? My ignitor and thermal are fine, don't need much smarts to clean them, but the hole for my pilot light is plugged.

1:44 is there an orifice in a gas fireplace you need to clean that if not cleaned won't hit smoke up your house with a lot of black carbon smoke

My fireplace won't light AT ALL. It's a Warnock Hersey fireplace & it worked fine 2 winters ago but now the pilot light won't light. I tried lighting the fireplace/pilot with a grill lighter, I sanded the thermopile & thermocouple. I changed out the single pole switch at the wall but still nothing. I even switched to a full propane tank thinking maybe that was the issue but to no avail. There is a hint of gas fumes but no hissing when I turn it to high. Any thoughts? Do I need to replace the gas line itself? I'm desperately searching for an answer. Please help.

My fire place was doing something similar though not has quick turning off as yours. I replaced Thermopile valve and its been running without issues.
