My mom has a 2002 Ford Windstar minivan, and we usually take the dogs with us on some outings, and they do shed everywhere, and my chihuahuas like to poop all over the floorboards and sometimes under the seats.

I was in charge for maintenance on a non profit agency van. I would detail & female staff I worked with trashed the inside or wrecked the outside. Ppl dont realize how much work mini vans ARE. So u have my sympathy.👍😉 Her van IS in good shape! 👍

Love step by step videos especially to see what other detailers are doing for their process. Thank you for what you provide to this community. I hate mini vans and it seem they like coming to me.

Our family truckster is a Honda Odyssey and every time I detail the interior the realization my kids are slobs kicks in. Those sauces for their chicken nuggets are the worse. For floor mats McKees rejuvenator is my go to product as it just works. Those stains looked to be blocked after you used the wicking stain product. To be honest those spray on and rinse off products are easy to use and fun. As always beautiful work and thank you for taking the time to explain this grueling process.

I’m amazed you did all that in 6hours!! Love watching your channel here in the UK (and girl as well!). How do you manage to pressure wash door shuts without getting tons of water in the interior? I struggle with this - maybe I’m using a wrong degree of nozzle?
@attention2detailswchelsea Жыл бұрын
I don’t worry about a little water and normally just have a towel nearby to mop up. It’s less water than if you were to open your door in the rain but I use a 25 degree tip and just practice gives you a more confident hand. For minivan doors though I can’t pressure wash TOO much the middle door and normally just do a waterless wash on those as yes, the interior door would get SOAKED. I learned that the hard way many a time

Wow!! I'm so glad you posted this! I see and have to do some minivans that are way worse and much harder to get thru. And what's worse is its at the car lot. And for some reason they expect it done in 2-3 hrs. I've almost quit because of the awful messes in minivans. I always started at the front. Next time I will be starting at the back like you did and see if it helps me more. YES I love these types of videos! I'm still new to this game and any of the process learned that can help me grow is what I like! Have a great week!
@attention2detailswchelsea Жыл бұрын
You can start in the front and blow it out but I find that makes a mess in my garage or driveway so that’s why I blow from back to front

Great job! How often do you use interior dressings? I feel they attract dust even after heavily diluting them. I love the look of natural clean plastics/trim.
@attention2detailswchelsea Жыл бұрын
I rarely use them and use something more like Cruise matte detailer or a spray wax. If I do use a dressing it’s because the plastic is faded and needs reconditioned. I only use water based dressings but normally just clean and put a UV protectant down (I’ve even used a spray wax before)

@attention2detailswchelsea Жыл бұрын
We’ve been here 3 years and the driveway is faded some but I am diligent to rinse when using strong chemicals and clean it after every detail. The reason it’s fading is due to all the pressure washing I do to it but not really from the chemicals

Serious question: I'm usually GREAT at truck maintenance. Since "Covid" with everything closed I've lacked. My dealer car wash still isn't open. I now have rust on myb2012 silverado...gggrrr. I need a heavy clean then a maintenance. I wanna get rust fixed soon. What do you recommend for "down n dirty" clean like the expedition you did? Then just maintenance till I get rust fixed. I had a Tacoma with no rust after owning it 13 yrs. 2 yrs of no maintenance killed my silverado. Breaks my heart
@attention2detailswchelsea Жыл бұрын
You definitely want to do a chemical decon with a clay bar treatment (Turtle wax rapid decon is a great one available on a retail level) and then at minimum a polish or cleaner wax. The decon MAY remove light rust that is just developing but if it’s etched into the paint then it may be too late. Then apply a ceramic sealant or at minimum a sealant to put down UV Protection and help make it easier to clean therefore less risk of rail dust developing and turning into rust.

Great job and content! I'm a part time detailer and as I grow minivans are becoming more common. I like doing minivans and SUVs . How much did you charge for this job so can have idea pricing on these if that's okay.
@attention2detailswchelsea Жыл бұрын
Minivans are rare for me these days as I have priced them for the normal amount of work they are. They start at $500/$600 for a full detail cause most are BAD and this way the customer has realistic expectations. This was a gift and free for my friend (perks!) but would have cost $375 for the condition it was in.

great video! have you ever extracted any really nasty seats? ive done several and the wicking just drives me crazy! especially when i dont know what the stains came from
@attention2detailswchelsea Жыл бұрын
Yes and normally use a stronger cleaner for those but the Spot Stop does help with wicking but normally heavier seats require much more thorough extraction

Nice job! Does the alkaline pre soak break down any previous sealants or protection?

It can weaken it yes. If you have protection on it it should make the rinse more effective so you may not need it

Do you add a stain blocker or offer as an option? If so what do you use. I typically use regular old scotchguard I find it works pretty well for the cost.
