Great info Jeremy! I try to explain to people about the difference between acid, non acid alkaline, and iron removing cleaners and the process. I think the majority of folks subscribe to whatever they find easiest. However, that’s not always what’s best. Id rather use the Cool Guy to make sure I get all the metallic brake dust off the wheel when there’s a lot of dust. Seems a lot of folks rather go with acid based because it’s easier. I try and tell them that should be reserved for extreme cases and that they can easily damage wheels if they aren’t careful. Then on the other side of it, there are folks who say soap and water are enough. I disagree with that logic because when you have bonded contaminants, soap and water will not remove them effectively. Anyway, great video and thanks again for the info!

Is cool guy safe to use for just a weekly cleaning too? Or every other week? My wheels are ceramic coated, so I ordered Cool Guy, it’s my first time around ordering from your site. My wheels don’t seem crazy dirty. Might have to switch to wise guy or a different solution if Cool Guy is too strong for a detail.

Cool Guy should be used if your ceramic coated wheels are extremely dirty, for example if you went on a long road trip or went 2+ weeks without a wash. If the wheels are aren't too dirty you will want to use Shift Soap and water to clean them.

Morning Gents, I have a Question for you, Im unsure if my Matte Black Forged Aluminum BBS wheels on my Lexus IS 500 are anodized? Should I use the multi-cleaner on wheels instead of Wise Guy/ Cool Guy Product I currently have? Thanks 🙏🏽 for any guidance!

You can use Cool Guy and they will be safe regardless, it will not harm your wheel surface. Wise Guy you will want to avoid using until you figure what wheel surface they are cause they will stain!

Wise guy is a great cleaner but too harsh for use on coatings. I use it on the tires and it’s awesome for removing the browning, etc For the wheels with coating either Cool Guy or just a good soap. You shouldn’t need anything very aggressive with the coating.

Wise Guy is an aggressive wheel cleaner, so it is not recommended on wheels that have been ceramic coated or have Clutch on them because it will break them down. Instead, we recommend using just our Shift Soap and water to clean them, and use our Punch It Ceramic Detailer to maintain the layer of Clutch that is on the wheels!

I’ve always used smooth move as a paint decon and for cleaning ceramic coated wheels. Is there a benefit to using cool guy over smooth move strictly on wheels?

When it comes to ceramic coated wheels they do not need a high cleaning product because nothing is wanting to stick to the coating. Therefore, for cleaning a ceramic coated wheel you would want to use our Shift Soap and water, then agitate with your brushes. This will benefit the coating on your wheels as well because you are using a very delicate product to clean them rather than a higher cleaning product like our Wise guy.

No! The Method Wheel Cleaner is a non-iron removing, non-acid, wheel cleaner that is very safe to use on the Method Wheels clear coat.

Cool Guy is safe for coated wheels. Wise Guy would start breaking the coating down. Both are awesome products.

May we ask why you say that? This formula cleans more effectively while being safe on wheels, it also is a higher foaming formula which allows the product to dwell on the surface longer.

@@SHINESUPPLY I use Cool Guy for my wheels. The original Wise Guy could be diluted 1:3 where as the new formula states 1:1 so it's not as cost effective for the end user. I also don't like the fact that the new formula shouldn't be used on ceramic coated wheels, I coat all of my wheels. I'm sure the new formula is great but the original was awesome and fit my needs better.

@@lanehuseby1658 The old formula was never safe for ceramic coated wheels. We never stated that anywhere so I'm sorry if someone steered you wrong. The old formula was a 2:1 suggested dilution, not 3:1. We suggest the 1:1 dilution on the new formula so it's effective on cleaning the wheels. You can easily dilute 2:1 if you'd like and it will outperform most products.
