Awesome. Pretty similar system with us here in Malaysia Borneo. We have high canopy usually up to 50-80 meter. Ground release system is a must. Also we use srt climbing system BUT added another backup rope for your backup device. (goblin, asap or Taz.) Once on top we change to double rope MRS. Keeping the access line available for rescue or descend later on. We do commercial work Btw. Thanks.

That’s so cool to hear! Yeah we used to do the same in Australia’s Eucalyptus Regnans (50-80m +) when we were climbing for measuring and protection purposes. But we didn’t use a backup asap. That’s a great idea though. Would love to climb rainforest species like you. Do you have any videos of you in the rainforest climbing?

There is drag when you ascend, because the Taz manufacturer instructions state it's for rope no larger than 11mm. Obviously it was designed primarily as an industrial Rope Access device and has bee poached by arborists. Fingers crossed they can iron out this with the Lov 4.

What length hitch cord are you using on your rope wrench. I'm new to climbing and am looking at putting together a RW setup, but I'm not sure what length hitch cord to get to ensure it fits within the whole thing.

Do you SRT to the first anchor point and revert back to MRT to work your way up the canopy or is there a way o to stay SRT? Only thing I can think of is running bowlines.

New to this as a hobby and soaking in all this pro knowledge! I have two audio video suggestions: Try planting the wireless mic on the helmet. That will still be close enough to pick up the voice clearly and not give you all the problems with rustling in the t-shirt. Also, ditch the autofocus for talking to camera in same place shots, the focus pulsing is distracting.

@@REECOIL_DOT_COM Your videos are WAY cool and keep getting better and better and the info is gold! Like everything, it's learning from and improving on our shortcomings that makes us better. I think you'll like the results from planting the mic on the helmet. My full-time / freelance work is video filming and editing. I think I'm drawn to climbing as a new hobby because similar to video I like the combination of how technical and creative it is and all the cool gear involved! Cheers!

Good morning, I'm glad you wrote back :) I am writing from a translator, so maybe it does not translate exactly .. I wanted to ask about the blue rope that works with Taz Lov, what is the model and parameters? I also wanted to ask if Taz Lov will be able to work on the Yale Blaze rope, this is the model you use for the base position ... Could you check if she works smoothly in it or with resistance? Greetings from Poland:)
@REECOIL_DOT_COM
@REECOIL_DOT_COM 2 жыл бұрын
@@arbersky4074 No worries bro! 😊 The blue rope is Donaghys Cougar Blue. It's 11.7mm and the Taz Lov3 works, but with a bit of resistance. Yale Blaze is only 11mm and fits really nicely in the Taz Lov3 (Taz is rated from 9.5mm-11mm) I just tried it this morning and it runs smoothly. Greeting from Australia Bro 😊🤙

I am waiting to learn how to climb like this for tree work. Is there a recommendation way to go about learning. I am in Texas and wonder if there is a class or certificate for being able to learn all this. Appreciate the help.

Hey bro! Sure thing. So if you want to become an Arborist, the best place to start is looking up the ISA (International Society of Arboriculture) and finding what courses they offer (in Australia we have the Certificate 3 in Arb to start with). Enrol in that, and also find a reputable Arborist company that are will to take you on as an apprentice Arborist. Possibly ISA certified Arborist company. Hope that helps bro 😊🤙

If you SRT a removal you aren't an efficient climber. Nobody wants to pay 3 or 4 groundsmen to watch some ego hungry climber toss a throw ball for 25 minutes
@REECOIL_DOT_COM
@REECOIL_DOT_COM 2 жыл бұрын
IMHO it’s a case of right tool for the job. Some big removals will warrant SRT, and some removals don’t. Eg. a straight pole with a good drop zone, that you can run up with spurs and that’s the most efficient option. This video is obviously not removal specific. Especially as it’s rigged with a base anchor.
@NoShotItsGengar

@@REECOIL_DOT_COM I agree it's warranted on any trimming especially a tree with healthy thick branches to rely on. I'm just saying as a business owner, a lot of production climbers waste your money showing off gadgets and techniques that hinder production. Not a knock on the video at all.
