This game is already a teaser and full of surprises around every corner but when I got to play coop with my friend I was even more surprised I wouldn’t be able to use sites of grace, you can’t use torrent, you can’t free roam. You can literally only come in complete an area and then go back to your world to do everything.. not only does the game need an update on its combat and glitchiness but we need better coop than that

guys the best way to compare or reference previous games, recall that in bloodborne you had two bells one to be the summoner one to be summoned. in this game the summoners bell is no longer unlimited its a consumable. the item furlcalling finger remedy(beckoning bell), this item makes you the summoner. the tarnished furled finger(small resonating bell) is to be summoned, this is also more for you to drop your sign in a specific spot. using this is also how you use your password system for password specific co op. the other way this game does co op is through the small effigy statues which when you activate the first one it will give you an item called the small golden effigy which when used your sent into what the game calls a summoning pool. so your call sign is sent to the little effigy statue and players looking for help will pick you up. this is a very random way to co op, and to make matters more confusing, you can send your call sign to the statue but you can still drop your call sign. i don't know which one takes precedence but regardless of that, the host player has to use the furlcalling finger consumable item(beckoning bell) to pick up or receive an ally from the random pool. Each effigy covers a specific area also, so when you send your call sign to a statue it will go the nearest one. with reference to darksouls, there is no need to be flesh/ghost form. if you die, you die, but it doesn't limit you to which role, host or summoned, you can play

I’ve been activating every single summoning pool statue I come across. So if I use the small golden effigy I can technically be summoned to any one of those throughout the world that I’ve activated? Also if they use the consumable to see signs to summon. And you sent your effigy to the pool. How can they see your sign or summon you if you never wrote down your sign and you did it through the pool instead? Also I’ve tried both of these options and can never see signs nor get summoned. I’m online. But my “cross region play” setting is set on default “no match making” setting. Do I need to change that?

Also, if I understand it correctly, the Effigy item sends an Auto version of your Sign to any & all fixed Effigy Pool statues you have personally physically activated in that region. (I.E. all Pools in Limgrave if you have them active, but nowhere else, unless you physically travel/F-Travel to a Gracefire in that region {Limgrave Vs say Caelid Region})

Dude its easy. One person uses the furled finger to make a summon sign on the ground. The person that will be hosting will use the other item to see the summon signs on the ground (don't remember the item name). The host player then clicks his friends summon sign to summon him to his game. If there are going to be 2 summons then he just clicks both signs for the people he wants to summon.

What I'm confused about is, with embers in DS3, as long as you had the ember's buff, you could coop, but when you died you had to take another one. But, with this, I'm confused; does the effect go away with time? When I die? When I teleport? Do I have to take another one when I leave and go to another location???

The summoning signs don't appear for me, so annoying, I saw my first after 30 hours and as soon I summoned it, a ton of signs started to appear. That first sign appeared after 10 tries of fighting a boss and checking for signs before every attempt. The fact that so many appear at the same time after I summoned someone by miracle proves there are people and signs around but for some seasons are hidden to me.

@@chalybee8689 I think mine was a NAT type issue. There were some server side issues here and there in the beginning for sure but I found out this game does not work online if you have NAT Type 3. I switched to NAT Type 2 and have had no issues since.

You’re limited to completing a task like killing the boss of the area. Once the task is complete, the summoned player goes back to their world. And of course you can summon each other again for the next fight, but unfortunately no actual freedom to explore together at all times. It’s kinda lame, I know

I'm sorry, but after so many games where it's already asinine to figure out how to Co-op in Souls games, I honestly am more disappointed with how it is in Elden Ring. Especially since my buddy wanted to play the game, which was his first introduction into From Soft, mainly for the Co-Op aspect so we could play together; only to realize it's hardly worth dealing with. Can't interact with chests, Graces, or NPCs, can't use mounts in this OPEN-WORLD EXPERIENCE! And if the host or the summoned dies, they go AAAAALL the way back to the spot they put down their summon sign; and with no fast travel between Graces, that isn't good at all. I went into this hoping that From Soft could be a little more lenient on Co-Op requirements for this latest installment, but I guess I got my hopes up a little too high.

You can fast travel between Graces as long as you aren't aggroed. Just pull up the map and select the grace then travel to it.

Me and my friend that lives less than 30 minutes away can't connect even if we try to be in the same world using a 3rd person summoning both of us 1 will not be able to join if the other is there. We have the same ISP, which I believe is the issue, but they claim there shouldn't be any problems and have already came and reset my connection and made sure everything was fine. We are able to play fine with any other person online even our Aussie friend, but can't figure out what's wrong between our summoning. I'd appreciate any help from anyone who might have had the same issue and fixed it somehow. On PS4 btw

Anyone saying it would be too easy they can scale difficulty and there's so many 10k souls per minute farming tactics that cheese it already. Like just keep playing by yourself your not even top 100k ranked if that was a thing lol. Sweats

I’m level 247 and my friend is level 143 but we’ve always had that amount of difference in level yet in the start of the game his summoning signs would pop up but now they don’t???

Anyone else having major crossplay issues since the patch? I literally cannot play with a few of my friends since the patch and I had no issues joining beforehand. It's extremely frustrating spending an hour a day just trying to get into your friends game. I'm on PS4, the games I can't join are on ps5, but some of my other friends have ps5 and I've no issues joining them. Any advice?

So I got my partner teamed up but we can't go into Farum Azures lair together to fight him. What gives? I can't furlcall my partner in the lair because I'm already in combat with Azure.

Ive been trying to co op and no luck. We do the same steps, i put my sign down my friend tries to find it, no luck. We even share screen and were both literally on the same spot. Been trying since release and still no luck.

Yea, used that bullshit finger dust and didn’t see any summoning signs. Great first impression Fromsoft. Set everything up, too. Also, fall damage is really inconsistent

probably your type of nat. mine is type 3 and i just can’t play coop
