In this video I will be showing you how to collect lobelia seeds. Lobelia seeds are very tiny so a magnifying glass may be needed to see the seeds. I also talk about how to store your seeds for best keeping as well as the best time to collect them.

I grew these for the first time this year as something different for a filler for my hanging baskets. I absolutely love them! The blue is absolutely beautiful with any color petunias but most beautiful with my black ones! Thanks for showing how to collect their seeds!!!

Hi, I've never taken stem cuttings of lobelia before. I don't know anything about growing avocado trees, I've never grown an avocado tree, I don't know anything about them.

How long can you save the seeds in the fridge? Will they last until April? The fridge is also kind of damp so would a Tupperware help?

I have seeds that I have had in the refrigerator for years. That's how I hold my seeds from one year to the next. You just want to make sure you put the seed envelope in a closed ziplock bag when you store it in the refrigerator. That will keep the dampness out.

Hi Carrie...i have a pink colour and bluish colour lobellia flowers..do they crosspolinate..cuz I want to save seeds from both colours but not sure if they will come back same colour as their original parent plant colour?how long are the seeds viable for?thank you

Hi, I've never grown 2 different colors of lobelia at one time so I don't know if they will cross or not. If you collect the seeds and store them in an envelope and put the envelope in a ziplock bag then put the sealed bag in the refrigerator they should last for years. Your welcome

We are having issues with pests too this year. Try Bonide Captain Jack's Super Insecticide spray. That is a new one that we are using and it did very well on the aphids. It's already mixed and all you have to do is spray the plants with it.
