thanks for this...I need to start spreading my plants by collecting seeds and saving some money vs buying the potted plants!

I just finished harvesting 2nd year homegrown native plants. With a few more seasons of work, I'll be able to brand ALL of the seeds emanating off our Homestead.

Great video! It's my first time growing Salvias, Let me tell you, it was difficult trying to find a video on where to cut so plant can keep blooming. Your video was very clear. Thank you

Hello so you collect the seed and plant right away in summer and pot up as needed and then plant in the ground …also the new plants are true to the mother plant color?
@thegrace-filledgarden Жыл бұрын
Hi! Yes you can either start the seeds in cost or directly in the garden. They will be true to color most all the time. If you get the seeds growing in the summer, you should have a decent size little plant by the end of fall.

Is this Mystic Spires in the video? If so, are they true to seed? Thank you! ❤

This is May Knight Salvia. I have noticed some variation in offspring from seed but nothing substantially significant in my opinion.

How soon after flower do you harvest the seeds? Mine look like they already dropped seeds.

Once the stalk finishes blooming at the top you will start to see some of the black seeds ready at the bottom. Will not take long for seeds to form all the way up. I find that the seeds will stay on the stalk for many weeks if I do not harvest them.
