I often trace snapshots of 3D models when drawing vehicles and weapons. I'm not ashamed of it, speeds up my work.

Cool. It's definitely efficient. I do trace a good amount too, but I actually enjoy drawing the hard surface vehicles and such. Thanks for watching.

@@GoodJoeArt Amazing artwork by the way. I love the looseness of it. So you don't ink your comic? From sketch straight to colors?
@GoodJoeArt11 ай бұрын
@@TKCPrime Yep. I really dig that style even though many pros would tell me it’s ugly and a waste. You gotta follow what you think looks right.

amazing video! I personally just do flats by separating them into different layers at the start, I have the art layer, then I create a layer folder for the colours, in which I do those separate layers of flats, and then, onto each layer( named like" background walls" or" sky" or even " skin" )I add new layers to put the real colour, some shading and effect if needed. was just colouring a comic book cover when watching your video

I'm not a colorist either. I'm a former Wildstorm inker. I'm trying to put together a crowd funder too, so I'm adding new 'hats' to wear because I don't have any collaborators. I learned a couple new things out of this video. Thanks, Joe!

Thanks Chuck! Coloring is a new world for a lot of us. I recently figured out how to do line holds in Clip Studio Paint too. Good luck with your crowdfund. If you'd like to promote it, send me an email.

Nice! As suspected, we have almost the same process, yet the outcomes are quite different. That just goes to show how much the artist's own input matters in this style.

I needed this, I'm a drawer at heart (I've always jokingly called myself a good drawer) and I've stepped foot into painting many many times, but I've noticed I just don't think like a painter, I've always just seen it as still drawing lines but now with color instead, and I also just don't really understand color in general either unless it's white/gray/black values, so I think after having witnessed so many amazing artists on the internet and trying to understand how THEY color it just came to me that maybe two tone is just my pace, I can put enough effort into it that it isn't lazy and I can still prioritize my line art! Thank you for this informative video Joe!
